Greens are in terrible condition
The greens are bumpy and partially dead. Patches of dirt. I have never seen such poor greens at this course. Definitely not worth the premium price they charge.
No marshal waited 30 min between holes
Waited 30 min per hole no marshal every one was upset tried to get a rain check 5 some in front of us small course front nine quit on 6 th hole after 2 hours of play
Going Downhill???
Always have liked this course. Play it halve dozen times a year.
Course was not in good shape in mid July and now again in mid August
Greens are normally in very good shape but on Sunday 8/10 they were bumpy and dead spots. Not good.
Fairways were hard and lacked water/green grass
Weather has been hot and sunny but that is not a good reason
Would not rrecommend
Pace of play was slow. 4 foursomes or regulars in front. They showed no inclination to speed up play. Did not park their carts in the proper spots to clear the hole for the next group, marked very short putts and came back to putt them, did not leave the green when until everyone was done, also not ready when it was their turn to play. It was hot not a a good day to stand around and wait. The course should be 3 and half hours, not 4 hours and 40 min. 2 months ago I went to play and I could only play 9 as there was a tournament going on.
Good Experience
The course was in good condition, the only concern I had was that we were behind a group outing. The pace of play was slower than what I am use to. Overall it was a good day to golf!
Nice
tees=B+ fairways=B sand=B greens=B+ rough=B
very good condition... 11th tee direction is a little confusin
Greens & bunkers need TLC!
Have been playing this course for years. A short front nine and more challenging back nine. The only defense for the course has been the conditions of the greens and as of this date they need attention. Same with the bunkers, can you please put some sand in them, spend some money on course maintenance and this will be fun to play again.
Fun and pretty course
This is a great course with a good variety of challenges. It was a lot of fun to play - definitely worth the drive to Woodland.
Beautiful Course
Nice setting next to the Lewis River. Staff keep the course in great shape. Front 9 is a lot easier than the back 9. Back 9 has a 600+ yard par 5. Very enjoyable, picturesque place. Nice venue for a wedding. Restaurant and food was excellent with nice patio overlooking the River. Staff was very, very friendly and accommodating. Will have to go back sometime. Highly recommended. Back 9 is pretty challenging for regular duffers like me. But, was able to par 6 of the last 9 holes.
What fun!
Came up from central Oregon on a golf trip. Back ground: I'm 70 yrs old, 7 hdcp, but I only drive 210 yds. This is a perfect course if you are that type of golfer. Listen, this is an old "timey" course, from the 60's I think. Short, narrow fairways, lot of slope and humps on the small greens. This is a PERFECTLY acceptable design on a short course with small greens. In fact it heightens the challenge, as it should, on an older course. This was built before they had modern mowing techniques. They are SMART enough to keep the Stimp at 10. The putts won't get away from you. You will need to be able to chip as the greens are smaller. Fortunately I can chip and putt and shot 79. The staff was friendly and the pub sandwiches were excellent and the service was very good. Sit outside on the deck and watch the river flow by. Price was soooo reasonable. We'll be back!
The long par fives are a challenge.
Do not like paying $4 bucks for a simple hotdog and 3 for a Gatorade ....geez But other then that one of my favorite courses around.
Feel Good Course
Interesting course layout with a challenging twist regarding holes 16 and 17. Could use an upgrade on power cart quality. A quality dinner menu would be nice.
You owe it to yourself to play Lewis River
I've been playing here for about 30+ years. The course offers two totally different nines. Better make your birdies on the front because you won't make many on holes 10-18. The course is great in winter too, never drainage problems. VERY easy and enjoyable to walk. I play here about once each year and for me, it isn't a full golf season without at least one round here. Very reasonable green fees and you wont be let down by the beauty and challenge of this hidden gem.
good round
my buddy and I played on a windy and rainy day. we had the course to ourselves. it was great. staff was nice. course was wet(which was expected). greens had been aerated which caused our putting to be very challenging and frustrating. overall, we had a very enjoyable round and will golf here again..
a very chellegening course that maykes you bring your "A" game to play.
I plan to play here serveral times this summer and fall, great course. bob w
Nice hidden golf course
Hard to find the course even with GPS, but worth the effort. Nice facility. Easy course to walk, very flat, seems to be in a valley. Some hidden ponds and water hazards. All in all a nice course. Now to my soap box. We were partnered with an average golfer, talk about someone that has watched too much golf on TV. Lined up forever, way too many practice swings, and was frozen over putts. My husband and I were polite, tried to be good sports, he did not ruin the round but it would have been much more pleasant if we were not paired up with this slow guy. We had no one in front of us, if it had been just us, we would have been done playing in half the time. So not the courses fault for slow play. Please, people just play along, stop fussing. Thanks
Nice course to play
I would go back there again, even didn't played well.
the course is fun to play
I have played this course many times and I will continue to play this course. I do played this course with friends once in awhile. Or I golf with unknown people.
Beautiful, short but challenging course
This tree-lined course runs along the Lewis River, with some spectacular views of the river. While the course is not narrow from the white tees, the blue offer some challenging shots that require accuracy and some thought. It was in great shape, particularly the greens considering the weather and time of year. The staff was extremely nice, knowledgeable and friendly. The facility is beautiful. A true gem and a great value. Check out the Men's Club -- a great value in itself.
We had lunch on the deck. The food was EXCELLENT! Perfect pub food, burger was GREAT! as was the turkey/bacon sandwich with potato salad. The servers were friendly and the drinks were very reasonably priced. You sure you were at the same course I was at?
