Lewis River
Greens very good, many tees poor, fairways some average, some poor.
A Tale of Two Sides
The front-9 at Lewis River GC is an excellent warmup for the longer, challenging back-9. Having lost some distance in my game, the holes were reachable around the front, but the required length on the back left me with an extra shot to reach several greens. The course is in good shape and a fair test. The scenic landscape is always pleasing.
A Hidden Gem
Hadn't played here in probably 20 years. Had a great time. The greens were faster than they looked and rolled true. Fairways were in good shape but the rough had a lot of bare patches. All the staff raved about the new owners. Less than an hour from Portland. It may well have the best 19th hole in the PDX area.
Great course with bad greens
Played a week night late 9 holes as a two some. Pace of play was great with no backups. The course seemed to be in excellent condition except for the greens. They were very slow and shaggy. I also found myself in a bunker on #7 that was rock hard with no lip. It was a safer play to just putt the ball out. Overall, I would say the course was good for a quick 9, but definitely wouldn’t be my go to for weekly 18 hole rounds because of the green conditions.
Lewis River Golf
The golf course as named, is located overlooking the Lewis River. As a 20+ handicapper from the white tees, all holes are reachable in regulation, though the 608 yard #12 is a challenge. The greens are in great shape for May and will get much faster into July. The views are nice, the terrain is mostly flat, and I'd recommend play there to anyone.
Birthday foursome
Great day with birthday buddies.
Monday was a great choice except didn't know restaurant was closed.oh well spent our lunch money @ McMenamins.
Food
They need to have a quick food source at the turn between holes 9 and 10.
Never play again
1. Reserved, through app and no where did it state greens were aerated and sanded.
2.1st hole fairway was being flooded by an overflowing pond. (Hasn’t rained in days) I had to use a ball retriever to get my ball out of the water in the fairway.
3. We had a rainy season so I understand the crappy fairways. Hole 9 was the only decent fairway and grass.
4. Terrible conditions all around.
5. Round lasted 5 hours and 20 minutes.
Course in great shape
First time playing this course but the recent reviews are accurate. Apparently it is under new management and a lot of money has been put in and it shows. Tees, fairways and greens all in excellent shape. They are still re-doing a few tee boxes but overall an excellent course for the money, will definitely come back!
Really nice course
First time playing as I am visiting. From out of town. Nice layout and the greens were in really good shape for early in the season. You can see the improvements on the way. Nice faculties. I’ll be back.
Course is getting so much better
Just 2 years ago the course was on the downfall, but recently, they have turned the course around and the greens are in near perfect shape.
Now that several courses in the area are closing for housing developments, it is nice to have a course that is in excellent shape and has fantastic views.
...getting better all the time
Played the 1st time with the bunch of local regulars and had a lot of fun... the greens are in great shape..
course is beautiful along the Lewis river and from what they tell me it's getting better all the time
