Lewis River Golf Course

Like the course: greens are great, layout is interesting and challenging, fairways are good, tees just ok but pace of play is slow - minimum 4.5 hrs per round for most recent couple of rounds have played there

Course is nice but pace of play was dreadfully slow. It was one foursome clearly holding up three groups including ours and marshal did nothing to speed up their play.

Got a great price on the site. But, when we arrived to the course we found out that they just plugged the greens, and the back nine was block off due to an event, so we would have to play the front twice. Won't have booked if that information was up front.

Lewis River Golf Course is recovering from course maintenance procedures. The greens had been plugged and sanded creating inconsistent putting. However, the course layout is always a pleasurable challenge. The tree lined fairways reward shaped tee-shots with accessible pin placements despite some challenging sand and water hazard locations. The back-nine, at 560 yards longer than the front, can put a damper on a well played front-nine score. Still, a rewarding round of golf had by our foursome.

Green fairways and beautiful greens made for a nice round of golf. Temp was 72 with a slight misty air making the walk to find our ball comfortable. The only negative comment from my group was the lack of sand in the bunkers. There was enough to cover the ground but that was it, otherwise a great challenging experience.

Course is in a muddy and rough for multiple tees. Sprinkler came on while playing on a tee that was already a muddy mess. The sprinklers caused a backup. Some of the course is great and challenging, but the few ruined it for me. I can't believe the prices are what they are with the course condition. Hopefully it gets back to that course I always heard people brag about. Disappointed for my 1st time there.

The staff was welcoming. The course and setting were outstanding.

The only reason the day wasn’t perfect was of a 9 hole tournament group in front of us. We caught up to their rear group at the 4th hole and half stepped until they parked their carts after the 9th hole. Just unfortunate timing……We flew through the back nine.

Very slow (an elderly couple in a cart and a walking single were creating a log jam). Locals playing any 18 in any order. Out of towners that couldn't stay in the fairway and/or hitting into group in front of them. May go back when summer crowds are back at home and kids are back in school. Might recommend then.

Course conditions very much improved, particularly greens.

No beverage cart - go inside and group behind assumes your position (really lousy clientele).

Always a good time golfing. Greens a little wet since it's summer the grounds were soggy.

Good pricing. Course conditions have been on the up and the staff are always friendly. Wish they had a range you could hit all clubs on, not just irons.

Greens very good, many tees poor, fairways some average, some poor.

The front-9 at Lewis River GC is an excellent warmup for the longer, challenging back-9. Having lost some distance in my game, the holes were reachable around the front, but the required length on the back left me with an extra shot to reach several greens. The course is in good shape and a fair test. The scenic landscape is always pleasing.

Hadn't played here in probably 20 years. Had a great time. The greens were faster than they looked and rolled true. Fairways were in good shape but the rough had a lot of bare patches. All the staff raved about the new owners. Less than an hour from Portland. It may well have the best 19th hole in the PDX area.
