Some tee boxes under construction
Some tee boxes were under construction. Temp tee boxes were just moved to areas of the rough in front. Could have at least mowed in the temp tee box areas. Other than that, course is still a gem in the woods!
Lewis River Again
See previous review. Not much has changed.
Fairways were a mess. Bare spots all over the fairways compounded by rain.
Sad. This could/should be a beautiful course. With some care this could be a $40 to $50 course.
I wish the owners would end our misery and make up their mind - golf course or houses.
What on earth has happened to Lewis River?
Played Lewis River for the first time this year and to say the level of maintenance neglect was shocking is an understatement. Entire fairways with dead grass and dirt with only a few patches of actual green grass, and they had been punched like the greens. Similarly, the greens had dead and bare patches and with the aeration, were almost unputtable. No drinks cart, pop machine on course out of order, no water on course, no ball washers, restaurant closed, pro shop empty, but green fees remain the same. Hopefully this is just temporary and they haven't tossed in the towel like The Cedars.
Lewis River
The course was in about as bad shape as I have seen it. To be fiat the greens were being aerated. Nothing was said about aeration at check in. The back should have been closed........the greens were covered in sand. On the front, lugs were dumped close to the green. Try chipping through that. Holes needed more sand.
The fairways were as hard as cement. I thought I was playing golf in Texas. Water system must be broken.
Maintenance on this course has been up and down all summer (for years). Played it earlier and the course was in horrible shape. Played it later and it was in great shape. Now back to horrible shape.
My green fees for the day should be reimbursed.
This is a great course with wonderful setting. IF ONLY SOMEONE WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT.
Awful
Save your time , save your money .. they have let this course go downhill. A little TLC Goes a long way. Went to start to play the back 9 where we were stopped by Maintenance man, saying we couldn’t play it. No one told us at the front office .. just an awful day at the course. Won’t be back
Horrible conditions
Use to be a favorite to go to. Awful conditions and sad seeing this course let go and not taken care of. Won’t be back
sneak
Front 9 pace was well . It was the people only playing 9 holes start off on the 10th hole slowed pace way down . I would probably suggest a starter during peak times so no buddy could sneak on the back nine in front of people playing 18
Good course! Couple drawbacks.
The field playability was awesome. I very much enjoyed the course, quite challenging but it was maintained well. The driving range is short, so I didn’t get to do a full warm up but that is fine. We had two groups in front of us and the pace of play was awful… they were screwing around.
The one thing that worried me was the staff member who checked me in double charged me (I prepaid via GolfNow). Had I not been in a rush I would of caught it right then but when I saw my CC info I got charged twice (once through GolfNow and the club). When I asked for a refund, the new staff member let me claim a voucher for 18 holes in the future!
Just be aware if you pre pay so you don’t get double charged.
Downhill
Course is going downhill! Used to be really nice. Greens are in bad shape, fairways are brown
Fun to Play at Lewis River again!
The course is looking good and played well. We enjoyed the scenery and the course. Not too crowded, so the pace of play was great!! Fun to play, looking forward to playing there again.
As always a fun course
this is a great course; fun , challenging but not overwhelming for a 20 handicap. lower handicaps can get into trouble, so it keeps them on their toes.
View off the restaurant deck is one of the best!

New Ownership
Things are looking up at Lewis River. Friendly staff and course in better shape. Only complaint is slow play on back nine. Enjoyable day.

Check in was ok, but not great after that. Greens were rough, course was so hard and dry, no bev cart, and no one available to help seat or serve us in restaurant. $62 with a cart is high.
