Great Time
First time playing this course. Fantastic conditions. Had lunch after 18 fun holes. Get the Reuben and hand cut fries. Fantastic food and staff.
Good Course
Played the course many times. Not a long course but some very challenging holes. Some are very TIGHT and some very difficult greens. Love the course.
Awesome course
The Course has a good mix of holes. Things start out a little tight at first, then it opens up.
Challenging short course
Prepare to give a moment of careful thought before making each shot. The greens and fairways are good and well maintained. However, there are a number of obstacles that need to be considered. Although Lewisburg Elks course is quite short —- if I remember correctly, only about 5500 yards, dips and curves and hills and valleys present opportunities to test your skill at shot planning and execution. I am a 12 handicap for my local course, but I was happy to score a 96 during my first round. But, as someone who just loves a reasonable challenge, I went back two days later and brought in an 89. So, as I became familiar with the course, I eliminated some of the mistakes I had made on the first try. I can’t wait to get back there. Too bad Lewisburg is 3 hours’ drive away from my home.
Good course
Very good course and well maintained. I have nothing bad to say about the course. Slope on some of the greens are challenging. The course maybe short in distance but makes up for it in challenging holes.
Lewisburg Golf
Course is very good for the price. Very hilly, greens and fairways are in good shape. I had a 9:30 am tee time and the fairway sprinklers were on for every hole so had to hit through the water and navigate the cart around the water. I asked a grounds crew guy about it and he just shrugged. Cart paths were very bumpy and in need of repair. Overall I recommend playing it if in the area as the scenery is spectacular.
Great course; very few holdbacks
I had played through this course a couple days ago and just had to come back. Luckily, my schedule allowed for this. The play was challenging as the course has some serious slopes on certain holes. I was able to trim several strokes from my first round score ‘Very happy with how the weekend at the Elks course turned out.
Again, I will complement the groundskeepers as the greens and fairways were in very good condition. As to the course, the biggest drawback I found was the condition of the sand traps. In most traps, there was very little actual “sand”, others had what looked like crushed granite(?) So, there’s opportunity for improvement here. (Thankfully, I didn’t find myself in the traps very often and I usually get out of them easily.) However, the traps certainly will not keep me from playing this wonderful course again and again whenever I get the chance. I cannot wait to get back there.
Deceptively tough; but well worth it. Ya gotta play this course.
After I waited about fifteen minutes because of frost, I was the first to tee off for day. Beginning with the first hole, I found the fairways in very good condition and great soft greens. Kudos to the groundskeeper, great job; this has been a relatively dry summer in the area, but somehow, you wouldn’t know it from the greens and fairways. Many fairways seemed narrow, surrounded by copious rough, certainly a way to make this rather short course challenging. As this was my first time playing the course, I felt good at holding my score within four strokes of my handicap on the front 9. Thinking I had “figured things out” by now, I headed to the back 9 to tighten the score up a little. Uh, but, No. As I proceeded onward, I realized that my tee shots had to land within my targeted areas for me to have a chance at par—-or hitting the green in regulation for that matter. Not being able to place my shots so exactingly, I ended up stretching the over-handicap by 4 more strokes. But, ya know, I enjoyed every darned minute of it. So much so that I have a tee time for tomorrow, two days after my first game. Ya just gotta play this course.
Excellent course
My son and I were in town for the LIV tournament and wanted to get in a round. Lewisburg Elks GC was an excellent choice. A great test of golf with lots of slopes, elevated greens and tee boxes, and blind pin placements. Club house has a book that was very helpful for first time players.
The course was crowded and pace of play was very slow. People jumped ahead of us at tee off, no one made them fallow the tee times. Other than that great course!
