The Club at Shannondell
About
The Club at Shannondell, formerly known as George Washington Golf Course, has been ranked by Golf Digest as one of the "25 Best Golf Courses in Pennsylvania" and it's also on their list of "Best Places to Play." From the back tees, the course is just over 6,100 yards. Put away your driver because there won't be many chances to grip it and rip it on this course. It's a seemingly mild layout with wide, gently rolling fairways that appear forgiving, but the strategically placed hazards along the pitched greens demand well placed shots. The cut of the rough is also higher and there are several doglegs, placing even further emphasis on accuracy. Proper club selection is also very important on this golf course. The Club at Shannondell is a fun but fair test for players of all skill levels.

Needs work
Drainage iissues and the worst sand traps I’ve seen in a decade. If you’re not going to maintain the bunkers then fill the holes and plant grass. They’ve continuously gotten worse over the last 2 1:2 years. This course should be priced at $40 to ride and $30 to walk.
Shannondell
Good course but a little tight side to side. If you are playing on a Saturday best keep your head on a swivel.
Wide open Tee sheet for Saturday? Seems sus
Course was water logged when we played. Staff super friendly. Course is short so we played the blues. Not many water hazards or woods so less likely to lose a ball. Some confusing shared tee boxes. Almost every hole is a dogleg...
No carts available
When I showed up for my 1:20 tee time, there were no carts. I prepaid for a round of golf with a cart. There were no pull carts either. I had to carry, if I wanted to play. Terrible course conditions. Bunkers not playable.
All good classic wide open track greens were true
Great conditions for this time of yeargreens rolled true and pace of play was fantastic
single golfers can book a tee time!!!
it`s a descent course and it`s not to expensive to play!
Horrible staff
They cancelled my reservation by saying due to raining. I reserved the course next door, played a round, did not see a drop of rain.
And I have difficulty getting refund
OK Overall
I played this chorus on a busy Saturday in July. As a single, I was placed with a nice group of three younger guys who were a lot of fun.
The pace was very slow and backed up at several holes, as expected for a weekend golf in this area at a public course. The tea boxes were mostly in rough shape, but greens and fairways were in decent condition for the most part. There were several challenging holes along with many trees making it A decent mix for higher and mid handicappers .
Many of the holes are very close to each other and it seemed very common to have golfers on other holes regularly. It was a hot day and a beverage cart would’ve been great. Bunkers are in pretty good shape.
There’s a very nice restaurant and decent pro shop.
Good pace in cold weather
Normally very busy course but there was no people played because of after Thanksgiving and was so cold. But, it's always good to come back to play in warm weather of course.
Great course, even in the late fall.
Course is kept in great condition, even for the late fall. Was a bit chilly out, but the tee boxes and greens were in great shape. Only reason I will give 4/5 was because on a lot of the greens they had tons of leaves on them, which is normal for the season, but I would recommend a leaf blower in the morning just so everyone can get better putt reads. Would recommend playing here often!
