Opened in 1929, Maplecrest Country Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Kenosha County. It is conveniently located a surprisingly short drive away from Chicago's northern suburbs. This challenging public course has long been a favorite amongst locals both for the playable design and the affordability. The golf course is relatively flat although there are a few subtle contours that can cause some tricky uneven lies. Watered fairways and fast greens protected by bunkers provide the bulk of the course's challenges though it is still quite forgiving if your shots are slightly errant. It is a course that beginners can approach with confidence but it still has plenty to offer for more advanced golfers. One good example is the difficult green on the sixth hole, which stands out as one of the toughest in the area.

Golf in February
The course was open the carts were running that's more than you can ask for in February. The staff was friendly as always.
Rich
Late in the year golf. $10 for 18 with a cart + golf now fee. Can't beat the price. Played in 3:15 minutes.
Greens were still fairly good.
The course is beautiful and good design.
I play first time here and I did not expected.but course is beautiful and very nice design.all staff is very kindness and golf cart is good too.I want a recommend every golfer.of coarse I will comeback.
Just a dump
Pretty simple here. Terrible layout. Awful maintenance. Ridiculously slow pace of play. Just nothing redeeming about this course. Only good thing is that I only paid $10.
Great Old School Course
If you're a fan of an old fashioned course with a cozy clubhouse and accommodating staff Maplecrest becomes a regular in your rotation. Sadly losing a lot of trees (ok, a few of them not so much). But always maintained weather permitting. Greens are fast but fair. One of my favorites. Only complaint is 18 should be a par 5. 464 yards is just a bit much for a par 4 in the world of mid to high handicappers. Especially with the wind in your face. Then there's the tricky green. Making it a par 5 would create a well earned birdie opportunity to finish your round. Which is preferable to always hoping for an up and down to save par at best (far more often than not).
Nice value.
Good value for the variety of holes you play. Pace of play was fantastic (3.5 hours) for a Sunday afternoon. Better than most clubhouse menu.
The course
For the money,it was a great value, course had fast greens but long rough
Great Time!
This is a great coarse. I did use the Golfnow Hot Deal and was very surprised at the great price for such a nice coarse. The wide open fairways and lack of water makes this my favorite.
Nice local course not extra long good for seniors
Pace was fairly slow for this round, not typical.
Pace of play
I enjoy playing this course because it has a variety of holes that are challenging to play. However I do not care to play a 5 hour round of golf on a Saturday afternoon. There were no marshals on the course to monitor the pace of play.
Maplecrest
Old course well maintained very friendly staff
Well maintained
I booked this round as a hot deal. I read a couple of reviews that said it was not well maintained. I don't know where they are playing but this place was pretty nice. It's no Augusta National, but it was nice for a regular golf course. The staff was the friendliest I have seen in quite a while. I golfed as a single and 3 groups waved me thru. As you may know some people will not do that. I believe that Wi is in a drought, but the fairways, rough and greens were in very good shape. Greens were average speed. Trees were hard as they rejected any shots that came their way. Try it!
Maplecrest CC
This course just north of hwy 50 in Kenosha is a beautiful and very golfer friendly course. Wide open fairways that are hard to miss, even for the bogey plus golfer. Great greens that slope from back to front so you should be able the hold the greens on approach. I will definitely be back, a sap.
Fun
Had a lot of fun playing with my brother and nephew during my yearly visit to Wisconsin. Very nice course to play. Considering the recent draught the course was in very good condition. I recommend it and will play it again.
Good course
Fun course to play and with all the trees it's important to keep it in the fairway. Would recommend it to others to play.
Barely worth the $15 dollars to walk 18 holes
There is a reason this course is so cheap. They don't invest any money into maintaining it. There's not a good lie anywhere, the greens are the slowest I've played all year, the staff is rude, and I just have nothing good to say about it. I would not recommend this course to anyone.
Tale of Two Nines
I booked a prepaid Golfnow Hotdeal. When we checked in the pro shop clerk tried to collect green fees from us. He said he saw our reserved tee time but his computer did not show it as prepaid. I had to show him the reservation on my phone. After a few minutes he handed us a key. The front nine is tight and most holes run adjacent to each other and are relatively flat with small greens. The back nine is more secluded, the greens are larger and the layout way more interesting. We played as a twosome behind a preferred ball scramble so it was understandably slow. There was a beverage cart and the driver was friendly and appeared regularly on the hot day which we appreciated.
Enjoyed our 18 holes
My son and I had a very relaxing, enjoyable 18 holes. Course is in good condition. The young lady driving the beverage cart was very courteous and efficient.
My review
Course was in very good shape considering the rains of the last couple weeks. Couple spots will need some work. I guess I would say the price on Golf Now was the same as what the course would have charged me had I not made the reservation thru Golf Now and paid the 5.25 handling fee. I would have thought there would have been a price break of a dollar or two.
Worth the drive
Good Price nice layout with lots of trees.
We played on a very very windy day and the course was wet mud on every shot and not much roll.
Will try again when its warmer and drier
