Butler's Golf Course - Lakeside Course

Fairways on the front will not hold a shot. None of the sand traps have had maintenance in a LONG time. Cart paths even longer. No one fixes a ball mark. We had three groups on every tee box on the front, probably due to 7 minute tee times. Not sure why it loosened up on the back but we still waited on every shot.

I’ve played this course a couple times, and it has always been in good/great condition. My only issue is every time has also been terrible pace of play. This last time out was by far the worst, with multiple groups in front hitting and putting like they’re playing for the PGA championship. A little space between tee times or some push from a ranger or two (something I’ve never seen out on the course) would be greatly appreciated.

The golf course was in very rough conditions due to the rain. My feet were soaked by the end of the day. Very nice course though, each hole was something different, also provides a good challenge. I bought a six pack of miller light and two little bags of Doritos and it cost me $18 which was as much as the round of golf it self. I found that ridiculous. Overall though, nice place and would go back on days with better weather.

I’ve played here many many times so I am actually bored playing here but they are in a “no spray zone”. When it gets humid the gnats are almost unbearable. It wasn’t bad today but I would say that any temperature over 70°, and it was about 76° when I was playing, the Gnats will be very annoying

You got to check out this course. The back nine at Lakeside is really beautiful.

It’s not a bad course, just not very desirable to me. The course was just hit with tons of rain so I can’t fault them for that at all. It’s nice they have someone drive around with a good/drink cart. The overall layout just doesn’t make sense with holes 9&10 being like a 5 minute drive apart with slow golf carts. For $40 a round it’s alright but I’ll only we going back for outings , not worth the drive for me

The fairways were very good this early in the year but the greens were rough from aireation and difficult to read. the sand traps have not been groomed and were unplayable but that is pretty much expected from a public coursed this early in the year. All told it was a round that met expectations.

With about 45 minutes left of daylight we were approached on the 16th tee and told we had to go directly to 18 because they were locking the gate to get there. We then proceeded to wait while all the groups in front of us played 18, time which could’ve been spent playing 16 and 17, and completing our round. There was no mention of a voucher for the missed holes at all from the staff.

2nd time playing this course and will absolutely be back! The course was in good condition for being early in the season. The staff was courteous, friendly, and helpful.

The course was in pretty good shape for so early in the season. Pace was a little slow because so many people on the course for the first time this season.

Early in year so course in good condition . Cart paths falling apart. Staff very accommodating..overall a good course.

Overall, the Course was in great condition for the middle of March. The cart paths were on their last legs with frost heaves and pot holes and the greens were very slow and in need of a cut. Other than that, the view was beautiful, the fairways were good, and everybody was friendly and helpful.. I’ll be back...

Played Lakeside today, front 9 average skill level required, back 9 is very scenic and a great challenge, course is very hilly but a great course for the average player.

The Woodside course was closed unless you walked because it was saturated.

I played the Lakeside course instead. Some holes on the front nine were nearly unplayable due to saturation and fairways and rough that could not be mowed. I didn't play the very hilly back nine because it was cart path only which I could not handle in the afternoon heat. The Lakeside course was packed with slow players since the Woodside course was closed

It would have been better if both courses were closed. Even at the Hot Deal price, today was not a good value or an enjoyable round of golf.

Good course and enjoyed the round. The greens were spiked up.

The staff here are very friendly towards golf now customers. Some courses are rude because they dont make any money on tee time. This course has 36 challenging holes. Greens are large and undulated. Highly recommend this course for all levels.

I had an early tee time and they had 2 big outings later that day. There was a lot of confusion and disorganization with how they would get earlier tee times out & have the course clear for outings...even talking down to each other to guests (AWKWARD). The Course was in poor shape but locals I played with informed me that this was expected in the area. Wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone... and I shot +1... so it wasn’t that I had a “bad round.”

Course is in good shape but could use some sand in all the bunkers. They need to do something about players not fixing there ball marks. The green are terrible because nobody is repairing the ball marks. Golf ⚽️
