Christmas Mountain Village - Oaks Golf Course
About
The Oaks Golf Course at Christmas Mountain Village was carefully carved from the rolling hills of Wisconsin Dells. The Oaks is the 18-hole course and it is joined by the nine-hole Pines Course. The names of both courses are indicative of the mature woodland landscape you will find on each. The championship Oaks is a challenging but straightforward layout. You can play it well the first time you play it, so long as you are able to keep it in the short grass. Strategically placed sand traps come into play along many of the greens and there are water hazards on four holes. One of the most memorable holes is the 14th, an uphill par 4 that has three towering oak trees on the left side of the fairway that cause a blind shot to the green.

Decent Course in the Dells
To be honest, when I see the regular price around $80 I expected the course to be a bit nicer. The fairway and greens were both fairly beat up and the bunkers were quite hard. However, there has been a lot of rain in the area lately so that may have contributed to this.
Overall it's a decent course...but certainly not up there with some of the other nice courses in the Dells. We were staying at the attached resort though so it's tough to beat that convenience, even though the great Trapper's Turn is a mere 5 minutes away.
In summary, a solid course that may have been in a rough shape due to the weather. The pace of play was a bit slow due to them allowing some groups of 6 for whatever reason, but the course wasn't packed so that may have been why.
First time at the Oaks Christmas Mountain MN
As a first timer here, I regretted a few tee shots due to left and right hazards of heavily grassed steep rocky slopes on which it was easy to lose (and find) balls.
Greens were in very good condition with subtle undulations. Again, as a first timer, I know putting would have been easier with prior knowledge.
Pace of play was 4.5 hours as we followed a queue of 4-balls. Not a long course and even at my age I thought I would expect to play to my handicap next time. Poor changing facilities (no showers).
Christmas Mountain
The course was in great shape. Play was brisk which we like. No delays!
CHRISTMAS MNT
VALUE WAS GREAT AND COURSE WAS IN GOOD CONDITION.
Course has great staff
The staff was helpful but the golf course didn't look taken care of very well.
Nice Course, Very Good Value
The Oaks at Christmas Mountain was a nice course in very good shape. The course is cut through the woods and moderately challenging so have an extra sleeve or two of balls if you are crooked off the tee. The fairways were in great shape as were the greens. The greens were on the slow side, but not obnoxiously so. I would play the course again. Saw deer through out and heard a turkey gobbling in the woods. The bartender in the 19th hole (Mulligans) was friendly and the food and drink was reasonably priced.
A good mixture of shot making
Just about had the course to myself. Don't know where everyone was, maybe still off season, but my round was less than 3 1/2 hours. Course was in very good condition.
Disappointed
Was excited to play this course, but day started off with my tee time being pushed back 20 minutes due to course being overbooked. As a single placed behind a number of foursomes, pace of play was awful. Only time I saw a marshal was when he cut in front of me from out of the woods on a tee box and I nearly launched a tee shot right at him...he wasnt even paying attention. Course was in good shape, but the slow play and non-existent presence of staff to keep people moving along became tedious and tiresome. Actually skipped over the 18th hole and went home because it was such a mess. An absolute disaster from start to finish, and with the wealth of courses in the Dells area to choose from, I will take my game elsewhere in the future.
Christmas Mountain Review
The course is in fantastic shape and it wasn't busy at all this early in the year. A great rate on Golfnow!!!!!! Even better than my owner rate being an owner with the Bluegreen Corp.
Overall very good, kinda tough
We had a foursome with two moderate golfers and two beginners. The course itself is beautiful. It plays a little tricky in the there are narrow fairways and lots or elevation. The fairways are full some obstacles and hills but it makes for some fun shots. The rough was like hitting out of cabbage, even just off the fairway. Staff and facilities were awesome. The Rangers were friendly. I would come back, just be aware with beginner golfers.
Perfect Day at Christmas Mountain
We had a great day. The weather was perfect. The beer was cold and our golf game was fairly good. Love the price and the condition of the course. We seemed like we were the only ones on the back nine. Would go back. In fact, that was our second time golfing there this week. A+
Beautiful Course
This course is absolutely beautiful. Logical layout with nice cart paths. Great views and lush well kept surroundings. The holes are not near houses and is very much in the woods and quiet. Each hole stands alone. The club house is nothing to talk about, but the course itself is magnificent. I would highly recommend it, but go somewhere else for food and drink.
Good golf but pricey if no deals
Had a great time. Played on Tuesday so the traffic was down and allowed for comfortable play with my daughter and father.
This is a beautiful course with a great staff
Great day of golf with the boys. Would definitely golf this course again. Lots of fun!
Lots of variety on a nice course
Lots of variety on a nice course. Greens were in great shape. Course was not too busy in the PM so good pace of play. Marshall went by a couple of times. Two beverage carts going all the time. Nice way to spend an afternoon.
christmas mountain oaks review
nice layout. great views on back nine. excellent elevation changes and well maintained greens.bunkers need some work and practice range is very average although putting and chipping greens are very nice. good value for the price we paid on golf now.com
great greens
Christmas Mountain is a challenging course for players of all skills, the greens roll true and are in great shape. i've played here several times over the years. i didn't have my best round but still played decent. you will be rewarded for good shots and penalized for bad shots, the rough isn't super tall but still takes some skill to hit out of.
Very nice course will go back
Great course and the staff was very nice ....
Had dinner and drinks at the Facility...
Good was very good bar tender could have used help but took good care of all the guess...
I hope to return to the course...
First time out and first time here
Really nice course. The front 9 is nice. The back 9 is great. Tons of elevation changes, and tough decisions to make. But, the course plays well and it has a real nice relaxing feel.
