Christmas Mountain Village - Oaks Golf Course

About
The Oaks Golf Course at Christmas Mountain Village was carefully carved from the rolling hills of Wisconsin Dells. The Oaks is the 18-hole course and it is joined by the nine-hole Pines Course. The names of both courses are indicative of the mature woodland landscape you will find on each. The championship Oaks is a challenging but straightforward layout. You can play it well the first time you play it, so long as you are able to keep it in the short grass. Strategically placed sand traps come into play along many of the greens and there are water hazards on four holes. One of the most memorable holes is the 14th, an uphill par 4 that has three towering oak trees on the left side of the fairway that cause a blind shot to the green.

Beautiful course
This was my first time playing Christmas Mountain. The greens rolled nice, some subtle slopes I might have missed lining up a few putts. The front 9 on the oaks is really nice, the back was much more interesting due to a lot of elevation changes. I really liked the back better than the front just because of that reason. My only complaint would be there was a 6 some playing ahead of us, but they did let us play through soon after they noticed us. Without a doubt I will go back and play it again.
Silly Greens
In the past 13 years, this was the 495th course I’ve played. That said, I found the green speed and green slopes on many holes to be the most unfair of all the courses I’ve played. On the second hole I just barely started an 8’ putt and it rolled 40’ past the holes and off the front of the green. Several other holes were just as bad. The result is frustration and slow play. If the greens could be improved, it would be a very nice course.
I drove about 100 miles for a short Dells golf trip and was not eager to pay that much to play Trappers Turn, so I chose the Oaks course at Christmas Mountain. What a great course, and one on which you had think how you wanted to play the holes.
Plenty of variety with the holes, all laid out over very hilly terrain. The greens were very generous and in great shape! But you better have your "A" game as they were very fast with plenty of undulations.
Accuracy off the tees was a must as many holes were bordered on both sides by woods.
A definite play in the Dells area.
Average course at an elevated price
The course is in better shape than it has been in a couple of years but still not an $80+ round course. I can play a premium course like Wild Rock for $55 dollars per round.
Tight course, great shape.
The course was in great shape. It rained for about 30 minutes after second hole, but when we went back out there were no water issues. The sun came back out and we were able to finish up without further delays.
Gorgeous Course
Wonderful course. Can be tough at times but great overall
Challenging golf course
I have played here multiple times and the condition keeps getting better every time. It was let go for a few years but is quite good now.
