Links at Gettysburg
About
The Links at Gettysburg sprawls across rolling hills situated near the hallowed grounds where the defining battle of the Civil War took place. The golf course wages a formidable challenge itself, featuring 35 steep rock cliffs where the stone-lined tee boxes are perched and 10 lakes and waterfalls that come into play throughout. Red rock cart paths give a contrast to the lush greens and sparkling blue waters. The dramatic elevations allow golfers to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding countryside but the scenery can be almost too distracting since the demanding layout requires all of your attention. Be prepared for a bevy of strategically placed bunkers as well as mature trees. With the challenging layout and unrivaled views, it is no surprise that the Links at Gettysburg is ranked as one of the top 10 golf courses in Pennsylvania.

The guy still works at the course after an overt racism situation. They support his actions or he would be FIRED!!!! Photo submitted by u9215442 on 06/24/2020

Weekday golfing
The course is in great condition and is challenging on certain holes but overall a fun course. The staff is great, very friendly and knowledgeable. The back nine they have done some improvements to the cart paths and landscape which makes it nicer. The back nine is a tighter course and has a lot of water to make it interesting. Overall a great course and I would come back when in the area.
Very impressed on the pace of play
We had a threesome that teed off at 12:30 on a Saturday. It was my first time there and my fellow golfers had not been up that way in over ten years. We scored a couple low 80's and one low 90. The course was full and we still only waited on 3 holes 2 of them being par 3's. The course is in beautiful shape and they had just aerated 2.5 weeks prior. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. All in all it was a very relaxing day.
great course but no ranger on a Saturday
There was a foursome thar cause 4 groups to be on the same hole the whole game. We would have been completed in 4 hours or less if that foursome was made to move on or practice golf etiquette and let the faster players play through..I am not understanding why a ranger was not present to move them along. Five hours to play 18 holes is crazy. I like the course and plan on returning for several more rounds of golf.
play it you will be happy you did
Very fine course layout. large greens with a good bit of undulation. Course condition extremely good ...for December awesome. Staff all very friendly and helpful. It's a definite put on your list for next year or next week!!!! Thanks to the staff for a great day on the links..
outstanding
Great course in outstanding shape. Amazing setting.
Yardage book or app is a must to club it correctly on some holes
Tough, beautiful layout, excellent conditions, fun time, & great grill at the end. Lack of layup yardage on certain holes will hurt you big time. Priciest course in area, use a discount to soften the price. Little out of the way drive to get there, like Iron valley. Must play if you like tough but fun layout courses.
Waiting for the clouds to part
On a cloudy and muggy day this course showed itself well and would be spectacular on a sunny day. Local knowedge of at least 6 holes would have been ideal. The starter did give good tips about clubbing down on the first hole. Lost less golf balls than I thought given the extensive water risk and narrow fairways (Does that mean I'm getting better? or lucky.). Bunkers mostly had moist sand. Most fairways littered with unfixed divots followed by greens with untouched ball marks. I had read in prior reviews that this occurred and was indeed quite evident. Hot dogs and a drink at the turn a good price by dogs mundane and barely cooked despite a nice looking grill. But overall a fine experience and one to be enjoyed again.
A MUST Play; Personal Top 5 course. Worth the Drive
The Links is my favorite Central PA course, bar none, and top 5 personal course. Very scenic. I have played here 4 times in all seasons and it is always in great shape. Staff has always been above great, practice facilities are also top notch with wide range and short game area. Course is a challenging layout, but the multiple tee options can take some of the challenge away. Water comes into play on most holes, and ones without water have forced carries or multitude of bunkers. Hitting fairways is pretty much a must on most holes. It can play as a bombers paradise(as long as you bomb it straight) and a thinkers course where lay-ups and club selection can mean birdie/par or double/triple. There has always seemed to be some kind of wind to deal with(which i assume is due to its neighboring farm fields), which can mean clubbing up...add in the fact that a lot of the holes have slow uphill grades that ask for an extra club, and you are 2 upped. My favorite hole, and the most challenging in my opinion is the par 5, 7th where you are teeing from above and the fairway has ponds on either side that can come into play on your 2nd shot as well. The ponds lie about 5 feet below the fairway, and the rough is usually trimmed a little which can lead to balls sliding down the slope into the drink. But I think you will be hard pressed to find a tougher hole in the area. There are also a handful of other holes that I would rank 2A, 2B, etc. Bring some extra balls.
Great course!
Played here with my GF and we both loved it! Great layout, friendly stafff, beautiful course! Cant wait to play here again!
All around quality
Decided to treat myself and son to a Labor Day round of golf and we made the perfect choice. Couldn't have enjoyed it more !
My favorite course
This course is very difficult, but worth every penny. I live about an hour and a half away but play there at least 3 or 4 times a year. Tight fairways, truly challenging greens, and wonderful conditions make this a destination
Great Experience
Visited Links for the first time and it was a treat, in my top 3 favorite courses I've played so far. Made the two hour drive and right from the get go me and my playing partner were treated with friendliness and welcome. The track was exciting and challenging and beautiful to look at. The greens rolled great and the course was in top shape considering the lack of rain this summer. Good practice facility. Some of the holes have long carries off the tee but I don't mind that so much. Also some holes play very long and smart golf is a must. I will frequent this course that is two hours away.
links
course was in good shape pace of play was awesome had a great time .
haven't played in 4-5 years - PLEASANTLY SURPRISED
Hadn't played in 4-5 yrs. Course was in GREAT shape. Lots of money and work went into improving. Tees, fairways and greens were in "near" perfect shape. It would be as nice as any good Country Club, if people only fixed their divots and ball marks. I fixed on average 3-5 ball marks on EVERY green, and this was just a fraction of the total.
Great conditions. Some VERY challenging holes. A few of questionable design. All and all, a good course.
Hidden gem
Beautiful course and scenery. Very difficult if you don't know the course or have someone knowledgeable with you. But, fun course that will test your shirt game and long game (some par 5s are long!) getting there is tricky so use your gps.
This is a great golf course
There was one thing I was really disappointed in was the sand traps.
Great Course
Play was a bit slow but other than that its a great course. Well maintained. Several signature holes look amazing. Keep in mind its a links style so bring extra balls, if you miss the fairway you probably wont find it!
Victory
Very fair layout overall. First 3 holes a bit squeamish the first time out. Good scoring opportunities on back 9.
Let down!
So I was super excited to play here but I was let down from the beginning. Upon arrival the bag guy loaded me up and pointed me to the pro shop. I went in and purchased a shirt and a bucket of balls. The guy inside was too busy talking on a radio to deal with me so I waited. After a successful purchase I come outside to find that my cart and bag was transported to the range that wasn't that close by a person I got paired with. To me that was odd and inappropriate. I went to hit my balls and got 4 balls hit before the starter rushed us to the tee because someone didn't show up.
The course has terrible sight lines, tons of blind shots. A lot of forced carries that were less than appealing brush and junk. Fairways were not in that great of shape. Lots of divots unrepaired. There was about a 50 yd difference from the scorecard on every tee box except the par 3s. The greens weren't as fast as I hoped. The traps had huge rocks in almost every single one of them. Did I mention too many blind shots... Unless you are a regular here it's very hard to enjoy.
I will not play here again. Do not pay full price for this round!
