Nestled between the Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea volcanoes, The Village Course at Waikoloa (formerly known as Waikola Village Golf Club) has a beautiful and unique location that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The verdant, rolling terrain is dotted with stands of young trees and lakes that were incorporated into the golf course’s design. Robert Trent Jones Jr., the course’s designer, tried to maintain the natural assets of the landscape while adding a few challenges such as fairways bunkers and doglegs. The golf course also features traditional raised greens that are subject to forceful prevailing winds. Although the course is challenging enough for the serious golfer, the relaxed pace and beautiful scenery appeal to players of all skill levels. Locals often consider The Village Course at Waikoloa one of Hawaii’s best-kept secrets.

Windy
First two holes were great then the winds came. 25-40 mph for the next 12 holes then we couldn’t take it anymore and we bailed. We would come back but only if we could be assured the winds would stay down at WaikoBLOWa
Good value for the money!
This is a nicely laid out course with interesting holes and some great views of the ocean and mountains. The staff was very welcoming and we saw the food and beverage cart twice. We appreciated the great pace of play - the player’s assistant was ensuring everyone was happy - and we were finished in 3 hours, 40 minutes. The wind picked up quite vigorously, so some shots were tricky, but I would love to play here again on our next trip!
It's a fun course with great scenery and ups and downs, but it's a pity that the wind was too strong today to enjoy it.

Pace of play
Course was great, really nice layout. problem was pace of play.
Waited EVERY shot. Too many singles and twosomes, no marshals. I suggest they move to 10 minute intervals.
Greens still too slow
Faster greens than first round but still too slow. Otherwise course great.
Great course!
My wife son and I stayed at the condos on the course. Took my son out for two rounds of golf while we were here. Loved the course, staff was super friendly and the course conditions were some of the best I’ve seen. Was a perfect addition to our already amazing vacation here.
