Nestled between the Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea volcanoes, The Village Course at Waikoloa (formerly known as Waikola Village Golf Club) has a beautiful and unique location that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The verdant, rolling terrain is dotted with stands of young trees and lakes that were incorporated into the golf course’s design. Robert Trent Jones Jr., the course’s designer, tried to maintain the natural assets of the landscape while adding a few challenges such as fairways bunkers and doglegs. The golf course also features traditional raised greens that are subject to forceful prevailing winds. Although the course is challenging enough for the serious golfer, the relaxed pace and beautiful scenery appeal to players of all skill levels. Locals often consider The Village Course at Waikoloa one of Hawaii’s best-kept secrets.

Good track, cost effective
A nice local golf course at a much better price point than the resort courses in the area
Great value
Bunkers always a challenge since they a heavier fill so it doesn’t blow away. Greens this time, however, pretty rough and inconsistent between holes. Definitely need to figure out which way grain is running before putting.
Great Course for New Golfers
The course was in good condition overall. The crushed lava rock bunkers were a bit different. It was a fun course that is easier vs others I've played. Quite a few mid fairway bunkers.
It was priced for Hawaii, but would be 70% if the cost where I live.
If you want to go enjoy a fun course good for high handicap golfer.

Good experience.
Course is in great shape. Great layout, good value. In the hills today was not as windy as I would have expected. Forgiving and playable for all skill levels. Would recommend. I've played here multiple times over the years.
Good experience after pace of play issue
I have played here several times in years past. The course wasn’t crowded so play should have been moving well. We were behind a foursome that took 50 minutes to play 2 holes. I called the pro shop and they sent someone out to take care of the problem. They had the group stand aside and we played in 4 and a half hours. Not bad but this is a four hour course. It is in the best condition I have ever seen. I will play it again.
Great day with friends
Our 4 some ( two married couples) from Arizona enjoyed our day. The course was in good shape . Some very pretty ocean vistas along with lots of natural areas. The fairways and greens were in good shape. We saw wild turkeys on the course along with a few goats. Lots of nesting ne nes. There are some forced carries but it is a fair course- not “tricked” up. The round was completed in about 4 hours.
Better than Beach Course
Thoroughly enjoyable course. Highly recommend it!
Traps
Everything was great except the sand traps were more like pebble traps.
