Good Golf Course - But No Cart Girl (no cart person at all)
First time ever playing this course. The green and fairways were good - moved fast and was fun to play. Overall a solid course - but don't think I will come back.
The carts were subpar (very basic - no screens or anything) and there was also not a cart girl or any type of cart person. There was a shack on the back 9 (I think it was on the 10th hole), where you could get a burger and drinks -- which we didn't know until we got to the back 9. For the price we paid to golf, I would have expected to have someone coming around on a cart to see if we were thirsty or wanted any snacks (rather than having to send one of us back to the 10th hole to load up on stuff for our 4some). In addition, the restaurant/club house/bar was not open at about 11:00am when we got thru the front 9... this was even more disappointing. Only thing serving any kind of food or drinks was the 1 little shack on the back 9 (the woman that worked at the shack was very friendly though).
Again, overall the course was nice... good condition and seemed well maintained -- but without a cart person going around, I don't think any of us 4 will be going back unfortunately.
Very good condition.
Course is challenging with many surprising water areas. The greens are very good and fast.
Course conditions
The price of $40 for an afternoon during the week is terrible for this course. The fairways are rough and dried out in some areas. Tee boxes look like it is a par 3 course with divots all over.
Poor tee boxes, bunkers not maintained at all, crabgrass on fairways and tee boxes, there are bear spots and potholes in fairways. Overall maintenance very poor.
Very Nice Golf Track
Bardmoor is one of my favorite courses in the Tampa/St. Pete's area.. It is a fair, but challenging test of golf. There is water here, water there and water...(you get the picture). From the tips, I posted a lot of 5s, even on the par 3s, three of which are 195 yards or longer, but don't blame the greens. This player refused to show them the respect they deserved, and I paid for it.. The 18th. is a fascinatingly long 572 yards. Unleash your drive and do all you can to avoid the deep and inviting greenside bunkers on approach or you'll forget about having a well-earned cold beverage with your bite to eat in the clubhouse. You'll want to go straight for the scotch! My drink was cold, but don't say I didn't warn you.
I can't wait for my next trip to the area and another fun round at Bardmoor. The course and I still have some business to settle.
Cheers!
Satisfactory but nothing special
Course conditions were fair but not great. Pace of play was slow. Priced a little higher than comparable courses in the area.
Great Experience upgrade
In the past, this could be a somewhat unpleasant experience as the people working here were less than friendly. That seems to have all changed for the better. The cart guy started my day with a pleasant surprise. He couldn’t have been nicer and asked me where I was parked and brought my cart right to my car. Super friendly guy, and boy that is rare these days. The gentleman who took my money in the clubhouse was also super nice. Then to put the cherry on the cake, the course was very challenging, and in really great shape. Pace of play was great. Obviously there have been some management changes here, so keep up the great work! You will be my go to course from this point on.
Rude Staff, Horrible Communication
Coming to Florida for a family vacation we researched local courses to mix in a round during our stay. We decided on Bardmoor as it looked the nicest. Once we booked our tee time we called the course a couple of days prior to secure 2 sets of rental clubs and were assured that we didn’t have to reserve them because they had 16 sets. After arriving to the course and checking in, we were greeted extremely rudely and informed there were NO SETS available due to a large group teeing off 3 hours later than us and offered no resolution. Save your money unless all you wanna do is take an Uber and see the inside of a clubhouse.
Enjoyable Round
Overall good experience. Greens not pretty but rolled true. Would play again.
Avoid This Course
2 words...goat ranch. For $70 I was shocked at the poor conditions of this course. Bare tee boxes, mediocre fairways...the greens were decent. The layout is nothing memorable and for a Thursday afternoon it was packed and slow. This was a maximum $30-$35 local muni that was charging $70. Take your money elsewhere.
Nicer course in area
Usually in good shape. Not really much in the way of signature holes but overall a good layout. Usually good deals in the pro shop. Nice clubhouse, aged a bit, still serviceable and clean.
Overalls great course. Good pace of play and tough holes. Food in the course was sub par. That is the only thing negative. Otherwise than that I’ll be back for sure
If you are not first…you are last.
The lesson to be learned here is you should return to the clubhouse when there were 2 groups on the 2nd tee.
Its unclear who caused the course to be backed up like it was…aggressive starter or lack of course marshal but it took 2 hours to play 6 holes! Frankly…its ridiculous. Thankfully the downpour projected for 530 came early and we left after 11 holes.
On the holes we did complete the fairways were in ok condition and the greens had been micro punched which was not mentioned when we were booking but they still played fair. (No sand filler)
It wasn’t all bad…the starter and clubhouse staff were friendly and they did provide a couple of rain shelters on the course so at least you will be in a good mood while you wait 25 minutes on each shot.
Not perfect but a fun track
Course has been in better shape, but it is still decent for the money. Greens were very hard and were being aerated. Saw about a 4 foot gator during the front 9.
