Fun course
August , at times of low rain fall and extreme heat….Bad time to play. The greens were the worst condition of any course I have ever played. But to be fair, they had just verticut, and aerated the greens to re-seed, but still in rough shape
I would like to play again under (hopefully) better conditions.
Charged more at course than confirmation
Cumberland charged more for the round than what GolfNow confirmed it would be. Round was confirmed on GolfNow at $45 but Cumberland charged $52.
I showed the confirmation to the attendant and she said “yeah I don’t know why GolfNow shows that but it’s $52.”
No big deal at $7 more but just the principle of you guys confirming at one rate to pay at course and the course charging more….
Great value for a good course
Very enjoyable round of golf with some great views and a lot of natural settings. Provides a good challenge for the weekend warrior golfers and the skilled professionals will enjoy the rewards for aggressive shortcut shots. Greens are in great shape. Only downside is the sand traps are horrible, more like ground up clay instead of sand. If you play in the morning you have go early enough to get a breakfast burrito from the kitchen, they are amazing.
Great laid-back course
Course supply, laid-back good pay supply very reasonably price greens and fairways are usually in good condition
Unexpected Pleasure
Absolute Love this gem of a course. Nice layout, pace and price. Such a beautiful place to play golf. Traveled from Memphis on a jazz getaway and decided to play golf. Can't wait to return.
Cumberland
This course appears to have been private at one time, they are trying hard to get it back to peak shape. But layout is nice, course conditions are good not great, really good value for the price. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, seems like a family owned operation. I would play it again if in the area
Hidden gem
Great layout. Senior friendly. Well manicured. Will be back. It really is a hidden gem. Hot deal at $25 was a bargain.
Great layout, great price with cons
This is a great little course that you can play for a great price. We went during the week and it wasn’t busy at all. Played with a walker and we didn’t run into hardly anyone.
Course has a pretty neat layout with some good holes. A few challenging tee shots make it interesting. Greens rolled well but are quite slow and inconsistent. You can be putting straight downhill and struggle to get it there one hole then the next time send it 10 feet by. They also don’t check up very well, so keep that in mind for approach shots and chipping.
Our experience would’ve been perfect if it hadn’t been for one of the staff members and a lack of notice. Kitchen was closed so there wasn’t any food available besides snack-type stuff. Course had no water coolers at all and the only chance to get anything was on 7 (no beverage carts during week). If they would’ve told us before we teed off that there wasn’t any water on the course it wouldn’t have been an issue. They didn’t and we had to drive to the clubhouse from the other side of the course just for some water. Pack a cooler and don’t rely on the food/beverage stuff there and it should be a great time.
Overall a good experience that I would recommend and would play again.
Pleasant Surprise
I would encourage to my friends to try it as it was challenging and the fairways were fantastic (especially for winter) the greens were cut a little higher than my expectation but still very fun to play.
Kids riding scooters all over the course.
This place gets worse every time I go… for several holes there were 10 year olds riding electric scooters all over the place. I finally called the clubhouse and there were aware of the kids riding scooters but were apparently condoning it “as long as they stayed on the cart paths”… but even still, they weren’t. They were ramping hills, cutting across, back and forth back and forth. There’s no reason for this to happen. After I called, one of the kids ride directly down the middle of the fairway towards me. I had just hit a 3 wood and luckily it was a bad shot or it would’ve come close to hitting him. Come to find out, the kid lives in the neighborhood and they’ve given him permission “as long as he stays on the cart path…” really?! And to top it off, they were out of range balls… again….
Overpriced for what it is.
Course isn’t bad, amenities are VERY dated. I was asked to take a dirty cart because it was left at the clubhouse instead of returned to the return location. (Apparently to keep him from having to move it himself). Range balls are a TERRIBLE. Most were split or written so bad you could barely see the dimples. And they were brown. I was literally told they were the balls dredged out of the lake. And since the range is a pond and they use floaters, I was told they don’t get the balls unless somebody paddles out in the canoe to retrieve them and the owner doesn’t pay for somebody to do the job, his wife does it in the summer time… seriously?! They barely had any range balls and the last two times I’ve gone they had ZERO. I’ve only been maybe a total of 4 times over the last 5 years or so and this is why. The course is fine, but the experience is terrible…
Good course for the money
Had a great time and wasn't crowded. Course and greens were in good shape for the fall and scenery was really nice with the leaves changing this time of year.
Decent place at a good price
We had a good time here, I just wish they had food options! Price is excellent
