Cherokee Ridge Country Club

Just south of Huntsville. A top 10 course Ive played. Staff was extremely friendly and Layne in the pro shop was a pleasure. They had a members event going on and everyone was having a blast. Wish I live closer and I would join immediately

By far one of the coolest layouts in North Alabama.

One round here and you can see why it used to host a Korn Ferry Tour event. Extremely hard layout that’s narrow, has forced carries, and maybe the most unfair tee shot I’ve ever seen on Hole 14. That said, it’s a fun round, and might be the prettiest course in Alabama. A round at a course like this in other places would cost twice as much. Friendly staff, good amenities, range balls are included. Would recommend going here at least once, but isn’t a course I would play every week given how tough it is.

It was a Sunday and the course was wet and cart path only ---no starter and no ranger resulted in a 5 hour round. If you never played the course good luck and no hints ---the 10th was a par 5 - blind shot --second shot straight down hill into crap in front of raised green ---no clues to which club to hit---several holes like that

Course was in very good condition especially considering the recent heavy rains and time of year (late December). Some confusion about where the first hole was and subsequent holes as they were not clearly marked. Made worse since the garmin watch I was wearing confused the front and back nine (a regular told me they swapped them a few months back). No water coolers and very few ball washers on a wet day. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Only real complaint was a sixsome holding up play for a few holes (they eventually let us play thru)
