Golfer Reviews
Wet course but knew it before arriving.
Course was wet due to torrential rain in the moth of 5/25. Greens were in exceptional shape. Few issues with a couple fairways but the groundskeeper was sodding some of the fairways. First time to play here. Beautiful and challenging layout but quite scenic to say the least. Booked on GN and thought the pricing was decent. Be back to play when it dries out. Nice staff and enjoyed it!!!!!
Hard but fair
This course could be in much better overall shape. The bunkers were not playable may be blamed on the recent weather, but after pairing up with a member on 14 he confirmed that the course has taken a nose dive. I started just after 5 and was just able to finish before dusk so it can be played fast. The layout is real tight so you have to place shots and have prior course knowledge or you’ll end up in a lot of trouble like I did. I’d play it again just for having some more knowledge about the troubles that lies ahead.
Good outing
Cherokee Ridge has always been a favorite of mine, however, the course was in the poorest condition I’ve seen it in over the past 10 years playing here! There are patches in the fairway and around the greens where the grass is nonexistent! They are working on it but at the players expense! Hole #10, the signature Par 5, has been reduced to a par 3!!! What a let down!! Guys, I expected better and you can do better!
Greens were good.
Needs a lot of work to cart paths & bare spots everywhere on fairways.
Beautiful scenery on every hole
Loved playing this course!!
Course has been in a lot better condition. Fairway grass thin if any.
Greens very slow but rolled true.
Course Needs Serious TLC
I played this course for a pretty good deal to celebrate my dad's birthday. A couple of things that need immediate attention for the course:
Bunkers: currently filled with standing water, rocks, and mud. It was apparent fresh sand hasn't been added in months, possibly years.
Fairways: standing water and mud throughout the course. Also, a few fairways were torn up with dead spots down to the dirt.
Tee Shots: many of the longer holes had blind tee shots with elevation changes. If this is your first time playing this course, be prepared to look for your tee shot for quite some time. There aren't graphics/illustrations/GPS flyovers of any holes on this course, so a lot of the blind shots are pure guesses.
Nice course needs some TLC
The course was in fair condition. The greens were excellent. The bunkers had not been worked, and were muddy, full of water and unplayable. We had to play them as GUR. The fairways were thin, but they should fill in soon with warmer weather. Some of the fairways had large bare areas which will need more careful attention.
Par 5 hole number 10 is quirky and virtually unplayable. I asked several locals how they play the hole and they laughed and said they don't know how to play it either.
The pro shop employees were great! Very friendly and helpful!
The restaurant staff was great, especially Maddie! The food was great!
All in all, it was a very good experience. Hopefully it will be in better condition later in the season.
