Love this course
So I’ve played at LSU a few times. The fairways are really above average for the price point. You’re rewarded nicely for hitting the ball into the fairway. The rough has gotten tougher into the summer, which is great. But it’s not so challenging that you struggle to get out or find your ball. The greens leave a little to be desired and don’t really break “true”, but again for the price point probably a little above average.
Hole number 6 is my favorite, it’s a massive risk or reward tee box with a very guarded green from one side. It’s a lot of fun to play I’d say there’s 3 different ways to make par there.
Anyway I love the course, it’s only lacking in food and beverage options. Other than that it’s a fantastic little course for a great price.
Enjoyable
First time golfing and had a lot of fun. They need to fix some of their signs and make sure coolers are full, but all in all was a lot of fun.
Good value for the money
LSU is not the best course around, however they tend to always have great greens, and today was no different. It can be tough with ditches, water, and trees if you have issues with inaccuracies, but for the most part, it is a decent course that I play very often. The staff is always great and helpful as needed.
Hackers paradise
This course is for ragular non-competitive golfers. For practice and hackers. Some holes are too easy. Signage is terrible. Cannot believe that the school does not have the students design and construct the hole signage. So much could easily be done to improve it a little.
Needs Some TLC
As a Chicagoan on vacation, I was looking for a place to play golf near Baton Rouge. We decided on LSU course because of proximity to the hotel. Course was okay. Some cool holes w/ nice views of Alex Box Stadium & Tiger Stadium. Layout is very interesting, needs better signage on how to get to holes. Most of the greens were nice. Some fairways & tee boxes were straight dirt, which was disappointing. Lots of weeds everywhere. Overall, I’d look elsewhere unless you are trying to stay near LSU campus.
Good bang for the buck
The course is VERY dried out so drives are rolling a mile! I’m normally a 240-250 yard drive person but I almost drove greens on three holes due to the course conditions. Greens are in really nice shape and rolling faster than they appear. The front nine is essentially played against the wind so club up. The back nine, I was hitting an 8 iron close to 180 yards so adjust accordingly. Fun course...pretty wide open but there are some sneaky canals and water hazards so a layup is not a bad play. $25 for 18 with cart....not bad.
Good value
Great values. Worth to play. Friendly staffs and co-players.

Starting to grow some grass around greens and on fairways
Lsu Golf course
This is the 2nd time I've played this course in a week and I have no complaints. Fairways, tee boxes and greens were in good shape. This is a good place to play a round and the course has plenty of distance if you're looking to use the long clubs.
Good play pace except when there were fivesomes allowed on the course. It slow down everything. I encountered twice in both Sat and Suday this week

Course was wet, but it poured here yesterday. I definitely did get my moneys worth! Lots of shots :( but it was another good day playing golf
Improved Conditions/Good Value
The course was in much better condition than the last time we played it in February. The greens were true to read. The staff were very friendly. The pace was excellent as there was nobody in front of or behind us, nowhere close that is. It seems the course is being rejuvenated by improved management and some much needed TLC. It was a great value. Good place to go to improve your game with a no fuss round of golf.
4Hawks
I play this course at least once a week and always enjoy the condition of the course. The greens are some of the best around for a public college course. I was able to get a deal on the Golf Now website for under $15. The fairways are in pretty good shape.
