Need to stop going here
I used to go here a lot during my first year. Stopped after manager was incredibly rude to friend and I when we complained about course conditions: “this isn’t Augusta National.” Maybe, but you also shouldn’t lose balls that are 2 feet off the fairway because grass is up to ankles. Shanked a shot in front of a tee box on another hole, couldn’t find the ball because grass is so long it is impossible to see it. Just do yourself a favor and go to Webb.
LSU should be embarrassed
This may just be the worst golf course in the state! The greens were more sand and dirt than grass, and the fairways not much better. The front 9 feels like an apocalyptic wasteland. The rough is more like hay. We lost more balls just in the grass than we could count. The course layout must have been designed by Stevie Wonder, because there is no continuity. Holes are everywhere with virtually no signage or directions. To have the "preeminent" university in Louisiana have its name on this thing is embarrassing. I guess this is what an $80 million budget hole looks like. It's a microcosm of the state of LSU at this point.
Let down
Just moved to the area and had high hopes. Course was in terrible shape. The back drop of LSU was nice but not much else. Greens need to be totally redone.
Time of year.
This time of year is tough on courses. Ground was hard and the greens were lacking. Very sandy and need attention.
LSU Golf Course
The first 9 holes were so unkept. Lost half of my Titlest golf balls on the first 9 because grass was so high and where it was a little decent the grass was piled up high like they just mowed and didn’t take care of dead grass. We saw 2 snakes, one was right beside my golf balls. Was not pleased with the first 9 at all. However the 2nd 9, 10-18 was beautiful. Really enjoyed it. So overall it was a bad morning but afternoon was very pleasant.
bad shape
Greens are bumpy, lumpy, some sand, dirt an different types of grass.
LSU should be ashamed
The course conditions were terrible. The rough was super high and the fairways and bunkers were abysmal. I cant tell you how many golf balls i lost. The staff was decent except a few rude members.
This place is not LSU caliber

Get what you pay for
Greens were sub par, the first cut of grass off the fairway was deep, and was difficult to find balls. Some signage to direct you to the next hole was missing making it difficult to navigate the course. Hole 6 on the scorecard is incorrectly laid out; it doglegs left, not right. My expectations were not high because of the low green fees, but I think a bit more effort needs to go into maintaining the course.
Grass Cutting
The worst course I played in the past decade. The grass is like a cow pasture.
Abandoned Wasteland
I have lived here for 30 years and never have I witnessed such poor course conditions at LSU. This was the go to course for cheap, fun course and good conditions. NOW, it looks like the director of the walking dead said, let’s add a golf course to our show. You know that bad neighborhood that you drive in that has the over grown grass, weeds everywhere, old lawn equipment and mud ruts? Well, welcome to this course, lock your doors.
Fire corse manager and greens keeper
Terrible condition. Weeds on T- box a foot high. Grass everywhere needed cutting. Greens were like a worn out rug. I have played $10 courses that were in better shape. Will not be back.
Don't waste your money.
What a terrible course. Weeds in the sand traps and all over the fairways. The longest grass I have ever seen. They took all of the fun out of pla uh ing golf.
Not the best but not the worst.
A lot of these reviews are probably from people who’ve played very nice golf courses for their whole life. As someone who’s home course is actually in worse condition than this one. It wasn’t bad. Sure the fairway was more like the rough but the course is definitely playable and fun if you can over look the slightly poor conditions. Still not the best though.
Poor course conditions
I’m assuming that the extremely poor course conditions are due to COVID-19. Almost an unplayable course at this point. Staff was very friendly and helpful though.
