White/Blue at Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort
About
There are three nines at Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort: the Red, the White, and the Blue. For practice, there is also a nine-hole par-3 course. 24 of the 27 championship holes share a unique location on an island in the middle of the Delaware River. Long ago, the odd little island was formed when one of the last glaciers melted. The holes are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The White/Blue Course features well manicured fairways and gently undulating greens. There are strategically placed bunkers along the greensides as well as thick patches of rough. On almost every hole, golfers can enjoy stunning views of the nearby Poconos Mountains. The beautiful setting and interesting design of all the golf courses have made Shawnee one of the Pennsylvania's finest destinations.

One of the better kept courses in the area
I've always found Shawnee to be in pretty good condition compared to other courses around the area and this time was no exception. I wouldn't say the course is in pristine condition as the rough played a little higher than it should have, but certainly no problem areas on this course and the greens were very nice as always. My one complaint was about the pace of play - but it was Father's Day and that had more to do with the inexperienced golfers than the course itself.
Great course
Great course to play on very open fairways. Good for begginers and pros. Twilight price of 19 bucks is one of the best values for a course that i've every played on. Highly recomended a try.
Very Good!
I really enjoyed this course; played Blue to Red nines. Very challenging but not too tough. Can't wait to go again!
horrible pace
we waited on every shot. you know when the major airlines over book thier flights and they ask to give up your ticket. it was kinda like that, but there was no reward. very dissapointed.
Play a classic Tillinghast
Staff was very friendly, they put us right out on the course, no waiting. The course was in good condition, I would play again.
good
always a pleasure to play at shawnee. Only negative was that the greens were a bit choppy & very fast.
Classic course.
Aged to perfection. 3-9 hole courses. I played red and white. A couple of interesting and tricky holes, but for the most part, straight out par 4 and par 5. Scenery along the Delaware river is just beautiful and relaxing. Water hazards not a real problem. Large area for pre-practice. You'll like it.
good value, nice staff, early spring conditions
great all around experience, going back again today, cant wait 'til the greens are completely back from winter. Grew up playing Bethpage Black so, a big Tillinghast fan.
Interesting, challenging holes over relatively flat terrain.
Greens were pretty fast for April play, although the red course had some greens in poor shape (but grass was growing and should improve).
A stiff wind made this course play longer and that made it challenging.
The course has great views of the Deleware River, and it's wild life.
Thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and the course for this time of year.
Coarse had great features and sites
All and al had a very good time there , and it's early in the golf season I would to come back and play in early summer when everything is a blooming and grass and greens are more mature. Thanks
Fairways are good and greens are in good shape. Staff was very friendly
The course was in good shape. It was a good value for the money.
love this place
great coutse. 3 sets of nice 9's. staff is real nice. food at there brewery is very nice.
THERE ARE BETER COURSES NEARBY
The Shawnee Inn was just too slow, was in poor condition and lacked character to play unless you were staying right at the resort. The course is right along the Delaware but doesn't make use of the river views as much as it should. Relatively flat course for being in the Poconos. Greens were slow and a few fairways and rough along the water have obviously been flooded out many times.
The course is very scenic. Challenging holes are mingled with holes an averge golfer can excel on. I plan on making this an annual course to play.
If you are in the poconos and have the chance to play this course DO IT! The history and scenery couple with a great course.
Not impressed
The course was disappointing I thought. It was confusing to find certain holes and some holes people are driving there ball into you. Didn't like the lay out at all. Too pricey for that course. Wouldn't go back.
Relaxed but challenging.
This is a great course, and one I wanted to play over and over again. With three 9-hole courses, you can play 18 and mix it up, or go for the whole 27 very easily.
