Good course. First time out. Challenging and fun.
Beautiful Course
Course was in great condition. Challenging but fun.
Once the greens come back...
It’ll be a better course. The front nine was a little ho-hum. The back nine things pick up a bit with nicer holes and views. I like the fact that they balance out the course by including two par 5s on each nine along with three par 3s. Pace was a little slow on the front but then we played through a twosome and were on our way. I’ll play it again in a month or so.
Nice old fashioned country course
Had a good time. Staff was accommodating. We had a twosome, and were paired with a single. Really good guy, we all had fun!!
Unfair to rate conditions with all of the rain we have had. Waited to hit every shot and replayed front after 20 minute wait to tee off on #10.
Memory Lane(or Fairway)
Played this course, regularly, during the early 70's when I was "learning". Cut from an old farm, hilly front 9, woodsy/hilly back 9 w/a nightmare 13th & 14th - LOL! Nice layout, all par 3's memorable, pair over 200 yards. Now part of a state park, the track still retains its original flavor w/dynamite Farm House Pub. I always go back, every couple years, to see if I've improved. Not much!! (But they have!) Accompanied by a 1st timer who states, "I'd definitely come back". A charmer.
NARROW Fairways
Short course! Front fairways are narrow and run along one another so often we (and everyone else) end up on a neighboring fairway. Some of the tee boxes are too fluffy and almost fake feeling to you don't get a consistent height for tee shots...I was unable to use a short tee on par 3's because it was so high. Starter was super friendly and back holes were scenic. No cart girl on a Sunday mid-morning/afternoon!
No food no drink
Course was in fine shape however there was no way to get a soda and a hot dog at the turn. Staff said oh sorry we decided not to open today. What!? All i wanted was a hot dog and beer or soda after 9 . Nothing was open and staff was just like sorry oh well! So maybe if they dont have ANY amenities they should reduce the fee. Simple food and drink is all I ask and they couldn't even provide that. Wont be back. Sorry..too many other great courses to choose from in the area. Competition is stiff and Skippack lost on this day!
Clean course
All golf areas were perfectly groomed for play. First time here, but not the last time.
Great course
Course is in great shape. Greens were tough, but it could have been pin location for the day we played. Had a great time.
Great Course Terrible Pace
The course was in fairly decent shape and the layout is challenging yet enjoyable. My biggest complaint was the lack of course management and pace. We tee'd off around 11:30AM with a hot deal and did not finish our round until 5PM! At one point, there were 2 four sums and a 2 sum stacked up on 1 tee box waiting to hit. I did not see a single ranger that day driving around to keep pace. Other than the terrible pace of play, this is a relatively cheap course that really makes you practice accuracy and control as the holes are tight.
