Tough pin placements , pace a little slow
Good shape but seems like they always overbook No starter
Packed Course
It was a beautiful late October day so I expected a lot of people to be out taking advantage of it. The pace of play was abysmal. Everywhere you looked, there were people on the course. The group in front of us refused to let us play though and we were on the course for almost 5 hours. The course was nice and in good condition. Fairways are pretty tight and there are a good amount of elevation changes. Liked the course but I would expect to have to play here on a weekday in order to get a normal round in.
Really coming into its own!
A well laid out course that is really starting to be taken care of. Excellent facilities as well!
excellent
Course in excellent condition with nice amenities. Clean modern bar and outside eating areas and most importantly RESTROOMS. The course is well kept with nice tee boxes.
Good course
I have played here many times. Good course, great price. Greens and tee boxes in good shape, traps need work.
Good bang for thr buck
I play here a few times a year. The course layout has good variety and is a decent challenge for the average golfer. I booked through GolfNow and paid $20 for the round and for that price it is an excellent deal. One negative is the sand traps. If you are expecting there to be decent sand in them, you better bring it with you. This has always been the case here so you just learn to deal with it.
nice courseusing
I played for a discounted rate. Full price is way too much for that course or any for that matter, golf is too expensive in this area.
Good Hot Deal
Overall it was enjoyable. Course was in decent shape fairways and greens, tee boxes need a lot of work. Water available on front and back very good on a 90 degree day. A ranger would help play move smoothly. People need to fix their ball marks.
old and slow
This course is over sold and old. The back nine is nice and the price is fair but your time might be worth the few other dollars of other locations. Until the over booking is done, this is a no-no on the weekends...
Nice little strip
I play this course regularly in my Men's League. The tee boxes aren't very level or maintained well however its a nice value for a local course. Tim, Nick, and the Pro shop staff are accommodating along with Stephanie and the friendly food service staff. Back nine is a bit more challenging and you may find some awkward lies with wayward shots.
Fun day on the course
We started the day on a great pace, but things backed up on the 10th and 11th pretty badly because of the par 3 11th. We were luckily paired with another twosome who made the experience a little bit better.
Greens in great shape
Have played here 20+ times. Best condition ever. For $25 it was a great value.
Good course, great value.
Decent course for the money. Greens were in good shape, fairways were ok. Some challenging holes but at the same time some birdie holes. Pace was a little slower - front nine had some walkers but pace picked up at the turn. Overall great day and a great course.
Very Good Value
I have played Skippack a lot over the past few years. It is one of the best values in the Philadelphia area, although it's not the most difficult public course around (except for the diabolical 13th hole). The course has several active players' leagues, a very good frequent player rewards program and a good free GPS app. Generally, the course is in very good condition, although the sand traps need some work and real sand (instead of the dirt material that Skippack (like other courses) uses as what I assume is a cheaper alternative). Having said that, the ownership makes small, but noticeable and sensible capital improvements to the course and the other facilities each year. The snack bar food at the turn is better (and faster!) than anyplace else around, with real burgers, dogs and other sandwiches and a decent beer selection. The onsite Farm House Restaurant is a much better "19th Hole" than any other course I can think of, although it can get a little crowded.
Diallo and Jeff Jackson (Brothers)
Had a good time at skippack. The course was nice and open. This was my first time out this year so it was nice to have a open course. The locating of the course was a bit farther than expected and I missed the sign to turn. We arrived on time but by the time we got situated we were late to tee off (my brother is so slow). But the starter was very considerate squeezed us in with out slowing others down.
Keep it in the fairway.
Played this on a Saturday morning in great conditions. The starter was a good guy and let us start early as a two-some. Narrow fairways on most holes with the front 9 featuring greens that are uncomfortably close to the next tee boxes.
Nicest couse I've played this summer
I try to get around to different courses each week. This is the first time I have played at Skippack and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
greens
the course was good. The greens great two tier and fat with lots of breaks.
Great shape
But slow...they were so worried about pairing people up in foursomes that they sacrificed pace
