About
Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

Late start, staff wasn’t friendly
Would not recommend this course to a friend. Had a 7:30am tee time but didn’t tee off till 8:30am because of frost? But the range and putting area were fine. Staff wasn’t friendly or polite when we asked how long the delay would be. We were pushed to play faster because of the late start even though we were playing ahead of pace. The course has area that under construction with takes away from the course like no water in lakes or ponds.
Over all I won’t be back and feel I didn’t get what I paid for.

Fun but waiting
Seems we were pushed out to fast. We were on the tee right after the group teed off, waiting and waiting through every hole. Perhaps too many groups were sent out too close to each other. The group behind us was always behind us pushing and we were pushing the group in-font of us. I dont like that. There should be a time slot between each group so that you can comfortably golf at a pace where you are not feeling like you should hurry or rush through. We actually played the front nine twice to avoid the agony of the wait at each tee.
Fun course but be ready to wait at every tee box.

Rough
Greens in VERY rough shape... like they haven't been watered, very sparce with grass. Fairways ok. A nice layout, Greag views of Superstition Mountain. Probably won't play again.

Good layout
This is a flat layout with good potential!! Played this course for years, good course fun layout. Work is being done to fix empty ponds which will really enhance some holes and bring back original design. Fairways were a little patch In a few spots but overall they were ok. Great price and pace was awesome.

Another round at a frequently visited course.
Course in decent shape,greens a little thin. Pace of play has been S L. O. W the last 3 rounds I've played.
Need a Marshal who will actually do the job. Was not like this before. Late for dinner. Hey I was golfing so that's a plus.

What a desert golf course is
Played today with some really nice Minnesotans and that was the highlight. This is a true desert course- lots of sand, rocks, shabby grass and burned up greens with a tree every now and then as a fairway target. Nothing holds on the greens. Putting is like a puck on ice- no stopping. After the 1st hole I had to ask myself, what am I doing here? With all the great Phoenix-Mesa area courses, why here? I could not come up with a good answer. It will be a while before I play here again. Know before you go! I did and still booked it. Insanity’s memories are short.

Apache Creek was a fun course. And the Greens were very consistent. If you hit it into the desert your ball is lost... The only negative thing was at times there's golfers hitting at each other and all landing in the same spot. From different holes.
