Thoughts
First time Snowbirder to Green Valley and first time at this course, but play SI and GVCC regularly. Fairways and sand traps leave a lot to be desired, as well as very bumpy greens, however it is a challenging track with strategic bunkering and green slope.
If you accept it for what it is and get one of discounts on green fees, it is worth playing. More wide-open than San Ignacio and seemingly not as dry as either it or the Country Club.
Good but bumpy
Course overall was in good condition. Greens were fast but bumpy. No selection of food at the turn. Good value for the money. Will play again.
Torres Blancas
The golf course is normally in decent shape, except for the sand traps. They don't even make an attempt at their traps. Always rocks, weeds and dirt (SAD).
I say no to referring someone because of crappy sand traps.
Decent track
Wide open, great views. Greens were a little rough, but I enjoyed the round even with 25 mph winds.
Wing
We had a 1:15 tee time & the first 4 holes being very slow pace of play & with a good hour of daylight left in the day, we could not finish our match. We waited 45 mins on the tee of hole #2! They forced us to return the golf cart by 5:30 PM! I have never heard of golf course requiring carts be returned while there was still daylight! They should explain that to people that after a 12:30 tee time they will not get all 18 holes in.
Terrible Staff
Paid for 4 people to play 18 holes. Then the 1st few holes were very slow, backed up terrible. On hole #2 we waited 45 mins before teeing off. After about 5 holes it opened up. So we played at a nice pace. Then on the 17th hole we were told to bring the cart in, that carts have to be returned by 5:30pm! So we could not play the 18 th hole to complete our match. It was still daylight. They demanded the carts be returned.
As an employee of a golf course, I have NEVER heard of telling people, when it’s still daylight YOU NEED TO RETURN THE GOLF CART!! If that’s the case do not sell tee times after 12 noon!! I feel I either should get a refund or a free round for 4 people cause I paid for 4 people to play!!
Oh then I’m told they don’t have a pro at this golf course! REALLY!
Nap time
First 9 holes back up was up to three groups, I needed either a lounge or a bed. Big yawn
Second nine holes much quicker.
Sand traps are nothing but hard pan and rocks.
Golfers have difficulty getting out of them with causes even slower pace.
Crap trap
Sand traps completely unattended to.
Some areas unplayable.
Waste receptacle only at bathrooms and club house.
Rest of playing area pretty good.
Greens need TLC
The greens of this course are deteriorating exponentially. At this rate, they will erode to resemble those of Canoa Ranch a few years ago. Many of our putts bounced and jounced as they approached the cup. ?!?
Disappointed
The cost was high considering the condition of the greens.
Great track
Greens are a little rough but overall a great track. Always enjoy a round here…
It sucks
Don’t do it, it’s not worth playing. Bunkers are dirt and rocks, minimum coarse maintenance. I played it several years ago and it was fine. Current owners are sucking the life out of the coarse. Golf now should back away.
