Poor maintenance
If Torres Blancas wants to have sand traps, proper maintenance is required. Otherwise, fill all of them in and plant grass.
Lousy conditions in the traps.
West Nile virus and Concrete
Mosquito repellent is a must!!! If ball rolls into the bunker you are safe. The bunkers are solid as concrete.
The greens are still healing after punching. They are doing a lot of work throughout the course, not sure what's going on with the sand traps, many were overgrown with weeds. The mosquitoes were ferocious but always expected here
A mess
This course must have been destroyed by recent rains. The tee boxes look like FEMA set them up.... scalped, dirt. Sod, or just on the side of the cartpath in the sand. And I don't expect a landscaping crew to understand golf. But MAYBE the trees above the tees could be trimmed back to allow for a golf swing?? The rock traps are unplayable. Boulders the size of.... golf balls.... laying on straight concrete. The traps are entirely unplayable. No shots over 225 on the driving range because there is NO NET to stop the balls from going in the wash behind it. Or maybe I'm just grumpy because it was 100° and there was no bev cart, the clubhouse closed at 9am and so did the snack bar... on a Saturday!! Not a good day. Bring bug spray. The mosquitoes are EVERYWHERE.
Facilities overall in bad shape.
Seat covers on carts have multiple rips which have been taped haphazardly. All bunkers have
Many, many exposed small rocks and barely any sand…..thought I would damage a club on bunker rocks. Some bunkers have standing water and mud (some standing water appears to have been there for days). First cut of rough aprox 2”-3” high in some areas so lost balls on mildly errant shots is a possibility. Sign at pro shop says no outside food or drinks or personal coolers……yet no cart service on course. Could go on and on but won’t. Course needs help.
baked Arizona golf.
Half of the bunkers full of stagnant water. One bunker had reeds growing out of it, maybe some frogs come next week! It all falls on the horrible G.M and lazy maintenance crew!!!! Starting in mid June expect swarms of mosquitoes due to flood irrigation at pecan groves nearby. Most of the courses in Green Valley are half baked fairways and horrible bunkers, better off going to Tucson to play. Definitely my last paying round there. Tucson it is!!!!!!!!!!!
