Lake Arlington Golf Course
About
Owned by the city of Arlington, this course has been around since 1963–it’s located on the north edge of Lake Arlington and surrounded by native trees and wildflowers. Ralph Plummer designed this easy course, incorporating little water and no bunkers.
The first hole is one of the most difficult, playing over 400 yards into a dogleg-left fairway dominated by a huge pecan tree. Holes 13 and 14 play near the lake–the 13th goes 389 yards uphill and doglegs right, and the 14th measures 240 yards downhill to a green protected by water on the left side. Even though it’s a long par 3, there is a dramatic drop from tee to green.
Getting there : From Dallas, take I-30 west and exit East Chase Pkwy. Turn left, travel about 4 miles, and you'll come to the intersection of Spur 303 and Green Oaks Blvd.

Bang for the bucks!
Great course for great price! Nice and green (5/17/13) fair way. The green itself can use some work but not bad. Front 9 is easy, back 9 is where it gets tough. Picture-esque 240yds par 3 (14th) with about 100 feet of elevation changes.
Good value at deal price
Moderately simple course. Some narrow fairways rewarded straight drives. A few water hazards but the sand was on the greens, making them awfully slow. A good rain and let the greens grow a bit should make this a good one for summer. A pretty good deal at GolfNow deal price.
Nice course
Had a wonderful time on Sunday at this course. Weather was awesome, greens were good.
Love this course!
Working on greens... putts were difficult
Be aware - the greens will need at least a week to recover from the work done yesterday..
son' 1st outing
Took my 14-year-old son on his first round of 18 holes. It's a good course for that event.
Decent Course
Pretty slow but well maintained and nice staff. Patrons are novice, slow, and annoying.
Great course good price needs work cleaning the course up
Pay it and play it. Try not to look to close to the details
Wait til Summer
The greens are still not where the were last year and will not be until the warm Summer months. Overall, the course was in decent shape and much better than it was 5 years ago.
Fun Holes, Over priced...but a local favorite
The price for this course is about $10-$15 too much. Its not worth $30 bucks on a weekday at noon. Its hard to find deals. But its the closest course to me, so they will continue to get my money.
what you expect for the price
didn't expect much considering its your run of the mill muni. course was easy, condition was ok. if i had paid more, i would have expected more.
found it very odd that there was not one bunker on this course. there is however enough water, to cause some minor challenges.
course was in great shape, Great Easter .
played Easter Sunday and started out a little cloudy then the Sun came out and it was a beautiful day to golf
This course needs a driving range, and I would have no complaints.
I hesitate to book courses under $30 on golf now because generally u get what you pay for. Lake Arlington was definitely worth every penny, and I will be back. We did have to change out our cart a few times with one that was charged up, but they came out very quickly. All this course needs is a driving range and there would be nothing to complain about. Overall great experience, very courteous staff, and the course will challenge you if you let it, I mean come on 245 yd par 3 into 30 mph wind, it was a tough day, but we enjoyed it.
Better courses for the $ during dormant time.
Course was very hard and greens were not the best. I know that it is still dormant weather and we are coming around, but I have played several times during the months of March and February, and have found several courses better to play. Wait to play this course, middle spring and on it is a good course, just not right now. Better courses below.
A little tough
I had not played here since the early 1990's and was pleased to see that the course was still in fairly good shape. For this time of year in Texas we couldn't have asked for a better day to play. My only gripe is that it backs up at the last par 3 on the course where you might wait 15 minutes to tee off. Other that that we had a great outing and look forward to playing there again!
Even the fairways were green.
Even the fairways were green. You can tell the grass was watered daily.
overbooked, understaffed
Our tee time was delayed over 20 minutes due to overbooking and allowing extra golfers to play with registered groups. Our cart had a flat tire by the third hole. However, since the course was so full (Sunday and excellent weather) there were no extra carts until we reached hole 9. Play was slow, but pleasant and relaxed. All in all, it's a nice course, they just seemed to be a little over extended on staff and gear.
My cart died on 15
Everything was going great when all of the sudden my cart decides to die on the 15th hole. It didn't have enough juice to finish the course, so I took it back to the clubhouse. It was getting dark so I didn't have enough time to get a new cart and go back out there, but had my cart not died I would have had enough time to at least do 2 more holes. The course is descent, not the most challenging, but you get your moneys worth. I also wish they had a driving range, and more practice chip areas. They take good care of the grass, and the staff is very nice. I will definitely go back.
Good day.75 deg. shot 85
good day for golf.26 mph wind. Met Johnny and Mike. Cpl of good guys, had a good time
Well maintained course for a heavily use public course.
When playing this course you don't need to bring your sand wedge because it does not have any sand bunkers. It does have other hazards such as water, trees, unmaintained rough etc. The layout and the topography is very pleasant. The length of the course is good for a midrange player. I like the par 3 -14 hole. The tee box is on a side of the hill next to and looking out to Lake Arlington and overlooking the green 200 yards away. There is enough dog leg fairways on the course that a player that knew how to shape shots would do well. I will play the Lake Arlington Course again.
good value good challenge
course starts out easy then gets more challenging. Some of the par4's you can leave the driver in the bag if you have a good 3 wood. The greens are fast for winter and undulations all over the place. Go play this course.
