Riverchase Golf Club
About
One of Jim Fazio’s first solo projects, Riverchase is a surprisingly tough challenge given its lack of trees and relatively short length. The course runs through the bottomlands of the Elm Fork Trinity River and is loaded with water due to a chain of interconnecting lakes created to collect heavy rains and irrigate the course. While there are no forced carries, water comes into play at least 12 holes, and out-of-bounds is a frequent concern because of the housing community that surrounds the course.
No. 5 is the most difficult rated hole–a long dogleg right par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to be in position to reach the green in two. The approach is long and uphill into a severely back-to-front sloping green with a lake on the right and out-of-bounds and bunkers on the left.
Two holes later, No. 7 is one of the toughest approaches in all of DFW. This hole plays due south into the prevailing wind, and the elevated green has a depth of only about 25 feet. Bunkers line the back, and the slope in front is significant. Ups and downs are difficult because of the slopes in the green. Take a look at the pin placement when you’re teeing off on No. 4.
The good news is that other than out-of-bounds, the course is mostly wide open, so you’ll generally have a shot if you just miss the fairway. The only thick spot for trees is along the creek on holes 14-16.
Getting there : Take the Belt Line exit off of 635 and drive north to MacArthur. Turn right (east) and drive to Riverchase Dr., where you’ll turn left. Look for the course on the right side of the road.

Dallas' Worst Golf Course
You shouldn't play on a rotten golf course like this. It's not managed at all, players don't have manners, and they don't follow the rules properly. And the bunker around the green is the worst, and Marshall acts as if he had received some legal power by taking a valentier from his inflexible local grandfather. It also makes it unkind to Asians. I posted a long message to the Asian community in Dallas telling you never to play at the River Chase golf course.
It's Dallas' worst golf course.
The course condition is the worst. The bunker has no sand, the rough around the green is not managed at all, and the tee box and powerway are the worst. And each hot dog costs 7.04 dollars. You should never hit it here. I came back last year and thought it was managed, but nothing changed.
Dissapointing
We booked this course based on the reviews and tee time availability. Now I know why we were able to get on so easily, with very few players on the course. When we arrived at the clubhouse, I asked the pro if he'd played it recently, and he said he hadn't been out for "several weeks". We should have taken that as our cue to leave.
The course is VERY rough and conditions were some of the worst that I've seen. Although the area has been dealing with a lot of rain, other local courses have been kept up much better. Our initial thought was that this course is on its' last breath.
Having said that, the layout is good and with some work, it may be revived. At this point, however, don't waste your money.
Stay away
Have not played Riverchase in over a year. Used to play regularly. Love the layout.
Upkeep and care have gone to heck.
Driving range closed. This has always been a problem.
No water on course.
No ball washers.
Did not see one cart girl
Sand traps unplayable. Filled with weeds and dirt.
Bare spots on fairways and greens.
No where near worth $60.
Terrible
I've played Riverchase a few times before but it's been over 5 years ago. Right now it's the worst golf course I've played in over 20 years. It is in horrible shape!!! Tee boxes bad. Fairways bad. Greens below average. Cart paths are a hazard!! Bunkers are dry and bare. If it wasn't for knowing all they would offer was a rain check I would have asked for my money back after the 1st hole. By the way...the green fee was $67. I wouldn't pay $10 to play this course again!
Horrible condition
I have played this course in the past, but good lord this course has gone downhill. Horrible conditions all around.
Much better than reviews
Bunkers were mud but who likes hitting out of bunkers just drop out of it. Cart paths were rough at times so cart path only would suck. But greens were in good shape. Fairways were in good condition. Loved the layout. Water is everywhere but me and my buddy didn’t find it but twice. Will definitely be back.
Golf
Golf Saturday morning. No cart girl. Showed up 30 minutes early. Starter was a jackwagon trying to get us off before our tee time, threatening us to have people jump us. Only to still wait every shot. Course needs a lot of work on every aspect of the course.
Slow Greens
Really great value here. Weekday play was the most relaxed I’ve experienced in awhile. Great $40 play! Really slow fury greens and fairways a bit tall but let this course dry out a bit and if the staff is able to role these greens and get that cut just a bit lower should shape up nice end of May into June
River view golf course.
This course was absolutely horrible. Had zero fun playing this course. Pulling up to the course, nobody was in the parking lot and once we got on the course I understood why. The course is in unplayable condition. The course is beautifully laid out. Has amazing potential but the course is not manicured at all. There is no resemblance of a fairway anywhere on this course. The greens are terrible. It was just not worth the $45. It is a $20 course at best. Pace of play was good because no one else was there. Would not recommend to anyone. Don’t be fooled by the rating on this course.
Course should not have been open for play. Many cart paths washed out with mud and most traps filled with water. Should have never tried to play in these conditions, however when the course was open for play it should have been in much better condition.
Good value for the money
Have played this course many times. It’s a very good course for the money, however the fairways seemed to be lacking in care right now.
Pics need updating
Out of town guest, pics on golf now look plush and beautiful. For the cost thought, must do! Greens were ok - course in general Very rough shape, even at $40 seemed steep for conditions.
Greens are the only good thing
The fairways and cart paths are like you’re driving a truck in the woods. Greens are actually really nice
