Nice course
First time playing this course. Overall a good experience. You can make the course as challenging as you want based on which tees you play. My only complaint was a lack of signs pointing you to the next hole. Luckily I played with regulars who showed me the way.
Only one issue
Excellent course, with the exception of signage which does not tell you how to get to certain holes. Very frustrating in that regard.
My Favorite Course
Love this course, after the freeze the greens were pretty bag, can’t blame them for that. Course now looked great, greens are almost on their way back. Rain in the forecast meant an empty course! Finished all 18 in under 3 hours.
Nice layout if you can find the next tee.
All the greens are in crappy condition . Wouldn't hurt to put some signs out either. Don't try walking!
What's the point
I wanted to try a new course, so we drove out to play Longwood. I knew I was in trouble when they (1) gave a $10 discount for green condition and (2) I bought a case of balls with only 3 sleeves. One perk is the signage next to the holes is excellent, but signage navigating the course is a nightmare. Instantly realized how much we messed up walking the course between holes 1 and 2 on Palmetto. Tee boxes were overgrown, plus littered with cigarettes, and the fairways a full of potholes, and weeds. Then the worst part was how bad the greens were. I'll never understand how a course with 27 holes gets in this shape, but there was no point in playing today other than to try out of the house - and I can do that for less than $55. Wanted to try and break 80 today, but it felt like you had to get your irons GIR within 10' every hole to do it.
Longwood
Greens were in bad bad shape. Ball hops like putting on cobblestone.
Course is in rough shape
Greens are absolutely terrible. Wouldn’t pay more than $20 if they are going to be in this condition.
Very convoluted course that needs a lot of work!
I was part of a threesome playing 18 holes with cart. Overall, the course seemed very convoluted to get from hole to hole with very few markings. The greens were recently sanded and punched so that was not fun to deal with. They were out mowing the tee boxes on many holes it seemed so you've got loud mowers in your ear while teeing off. We played on a Wednesday. The amount of brush, tall trees, leaves and grass made it miserable to find a ball that should be in plain sight. Not a very forgiving course if you can't stay on the fairway. We played Post Oak and Palmetto. Overall a mediocre experience.
Great Day
Excellent course, a bit of green maintenance today although that’s what we like to see!
G.U.R
On most greens they should have had Ground Under Repair areas marked off. The freeze damaged about a 5ft perimeter of most greens.
Chipping or putting through that area was unforgiving. You did not know where the ball would hop or be altered by that GUR.
Tee boxes were in good shape, all but a few spots in the fairways were good.
Pins were placed away from damaged area, but you still had to contend with the damaged areas.
