Longwood Golf Club - Post Oak Course

I was part of a threesome playing 18 holes with cart. Overall, the course seemed very convoluted to get from hole to hole with very few markings. The greens were recently sanded and punched so that was not fun to deal with. They were out mowing the tee boxes on many holes it seemed so you've got loud mowers in your ear while teeing off. We played on a Wednesday. The amount of brush, tall trees, leaves and grass made it miserable to find a ball that should be in plain sight. Not a very forgiving course if you can't stay on the fairway. We played Post Oak and Palmetto. Overall a mediocre experience.

Excellent course, a bit of green maintenance today although that’s what we like to see!

Not work the amount we paid for an afternoon Friday round. Greens were very spotty and did not roll true.

On most greens they should have had Ground Under Repair areas marked off. The freeze damaged about a 5ft perimeter of most greens.

Chipping or putting through that area was unforgiving. You did not know where the ball would hop or be altered by that GUR.

Tee boxes were in good shape, all but a few spots in the fairways were good.

Pins were placed away from damaged area, but you still had to contend with the damaged areas.

I had not played this course in over 30 years and the greens on the pine course were terrible. the course of play was very slow but it is a good layout.

Greens and some of the T boxes are very bad shape. Hopefully seeding and rain will help them recover from the freeze. And if other people would fix their own divots it would help. Bummer that some people have zero golf etiquette.

The greens are the worst that I have ever seen. They should not be charging nearly that much for the course with the condition that it is in currently. I made the mistake of joking the loyalty program before I played. I won’t be back until they have made significant improvements.
