BlackHorse Golf Club - North Course
About
The environmentally friendly Blackhorse Golf Club in Cypress was designed by Peter Jacobsen and Jim Hardy, who teamed to build one of the best 36-hole, daily-fee facilities in Texas. Designed to maximize the natural setting, this beautiful complex is a perfect setting for golf with its huge variety of oaks, elms, and wetlands that provide habitat for a wide variety of bird species. Holes 4-6 on Blackhorse Golf Club's North Course generally get the best of high handicappers. Holes 4 and 5 route through massive trees and expansive wetlands, both playing over 400 yards. No. 6 is the North Course's signature: a 180-yarder that tees over the bend of the creek to an elevated green enhanced with railroad ties and framed by bunkers.

Great course. Great Greens.
Great balance of Par 4/5s and Par 3s and the greens are amazing. Friendly staff and beautiful amenities.
Good but not Great
I will play this course as long as I can get a good deal with GN. I played the North Course. Greens are very fast and true. Tee boxes need help. Fairways are very dry in many places at the moment. Don’t get me wrong, the course is nice but I would NEVER play full price weekday ($135) or weekend ($152)to play here. I got afternoon tee time for $46/person at 2:50 on a Sunday. Would not pay much more than $50 for the course.
Solo Golfers on a weekend
Starter let a solo go on a Saturday morning. Waited on every tee. Didn’t see a Marshall until 15th hole. Did nothing anyway. 4hr 45m round. Guess if you’re a Member you do what you want.
A good course to play
The course is in good condition. Enjoyed playing there. The green is a bit slow.
Definitely Worth it On a Hot Deal
I got a good deal on a hot rate otherwise I would not typically pay the usual greens fees for this course. With all the recent rain it was cart path only and the course played extra long (feel shots were plugging like wedges). But beyond that the course was in really good shape. The only complaint I had was the single playing behind me (I was by myself as well) who was apparently to determined to play a round in 2 hours or less. So the pace was too *fast. I guess I could have let him play through. Staff super friendly and welcoming and a challenging course for a bogey golfer like myself.
Punched greens
There was only one course open pace of play was medium. Did not tell us that the greens were punched
Black Horse Disappointment
We paid $65.00 for na hot deal on Golfnow. I have seen this North Course on much better conditions. The Tee Boxes and Greens are not on the normal shape...They need to work on these two aspects soon. I don't see how they are asking up to $150.00 for a Weekend round
Greens were not in the best condition despite weather being great.
Course had rain for 30 min earlier in the day and they went cart path only for the remainder of the day even though course was perfectly dry. Very frustrating.
I think the course was very well. Taken care of the layout is challenging. The only thing I would question is management’s decision to let a group of seven go out on a very early Sunday teatime ahead of many other twos and fours
Greens under repair
Other than the greens which had been aired the track was very nice. Just the ball would never roll true on all of the greens.
Great layout
The course has a professional look about it and offers varied difficulty with the different tee boxes..
Slow play
My tee time was 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning and they allowed a fivesome to play in front of me. The round took four hours and 50 minutes
