Return from a long absence!!!!
I had played a couple of times at Longwood Many years ago so I was looking for a good deal and found it on golf now.com was impressed with the course it’s overall appearance atmosphere and play ability was good however the greens and as I understand to their defense were recently redone were long and slow when I say long the Bermuda grass was long and the greens were slow I don’t like putting on slow greens so I didn’t like that. The other knock that I have a problem with was the excess grass from mowing was not picked up there was piles of grass around the greens along the rough and so on that you could lose your ball just in the roof right off the fairway because of grass laying on the ground once their mouth grass needs to be picked up. I know it’s a work in progress I’m not sure if and when I’ll go back but I might I thought it was in in very playable and I love the layout that’s why I went back to begin with. Just do something with the greens make them faster make them break when the break is there I know it’s a work in progress keep up the good work
Course play and check-in
First arrived pro shop gentleman was on the phone for 5 mins didn’t even acknowledge me standing right in front of him. Rude to say the least. Course play was backed up and Marshall was nowhere to be found. Waiting 10 mins or more in line at tee box!
Only play this as a last resort
Course conditions were horrible. The greens look as though someone got the golf cart and rode on it. It’s always backed up no matter what time of the day. Person I played with even said it was backed up on a Monday.
I only played here because I booked it on Sunday and it was less than $30
Ruff is bad
The ruff just on the side of the fairway in some places the grass was almost 6 inches high. Lost your ball just in the ruff. Please cut the ruff along the fairway. It is frustrating to see your ball land just off the fairway and not be able to find because of the long grass
SSSSSLOWEST Bumpy Greens in Cypress
Nice pro shop customer service. Range balls have been updated with some new balls, but still have older balls mixed in. The greens are so slow and bumpy which is odd because Longwood and Cypress Lakes are sister courses, and Cypress Lakes has some of the best greens in Houston. I was a single added to threesome but they never showed. 2 4somes in front of me and a 4some behind me and . Just great. No starter in sight so I teed off as a single. 4some in front wouldn't let me play through on multiple possible occasions. I finally had enough and jumped ahead 3 holes and teamed up with a 3some. On the back we caught up to a 2some. Pace of play just stinks here. I finished just before dark, BUT I didn't get to play those 3 skipped holes.
A oid
Teed of 20 minutes late due to back up on first tee, spent a lot of time waiting.
Greens horrible and hole to hole navigation is confusing at best.
Better courses in the area for half the price.
1st time playing Longwood, booked tee time through GolfNow. Price was different upon arrival at course. I guess I am spoiled by my usual courses, range balls were an added fee to the Green fee. Range is in terrible shape, need to replace the range balls. Greens are in terrible shape, slow and dead patches everywhere. Signs to get to different holes throughout the course is extremely confusing. Would not recommend the course. Plenty of others around in much better shape for half the price.
Great course friendly people
The course is in good shape. The round lasted about 4 hours so pace of play on a Saturday morning was great.
Bad Greens
The greens are very slow and some of them appear to be diseased. Bunkers need some help also. Fairways are good. Range balls are free... good.
Too costly for what you get on the course.
Terrible everything there
Don’t know what to begin to describe how worst this course had become. We played post and pines, and both courses were completely in the worst condition. Green and teebox were like bare dirt without grass. I paid $50+tax for a round and expect at least a decent courses to play. I wan my money back! TERRIBLE courses. SAVE YOUR MONEY and PLAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! I was so angry and disappointed with how they want to take the money and didn’t do a decent job to improve their courses.
Greens were not Green
Why was one of the Nine Hole courses closed? The greens on the Palm and Pines were terrible. A twosome in from of us—we were a foursome, thought they were good enough to play from the back tees. Where was the Marshall to witness this? I will return only when the greens are fixed.
Way down hill
This use to be a nice course and worth the money. The greens are horrible, and have dead spots all over. Fairways are not manicured at all, might as well be a yard with crab grass. I will not be going back
