Does Longwood have a $0.00 maintenance budget? Good Lord.
The course is garbage. I grew up playing Longwood. It’s easily in the worst shape it has ever been. I understand that Harvey damaged the course in 2017, that’s fine, but that’s not really a valid excuse anymore. They must have a $0.00 annual budget for course maintenance. It’s the only explanation. Tee boxes are trash and unkept. Greens are untrue and full of sand patches and weeds. Dead grass and mud patches all over the fairway, greens, and fringes. Cart paths are so inconsistent you feel like you’re on an off-road 4x4 track. Cant forget last time I played when my golf cart died before we made it to the back 9. Everywhere you look there’s an eye sore at this place. Attention to detail definitely not Longwoods specialty. I come back to play every couple months with the hope that there will be any signs of improvement but it’s never there. I play munis around town in much better shape. If you take golf even a little bit seriously, you’ll be disappointed. Take your money somewhere else. Longwood should be $25-30 course max, not $60.
Quality has dropped alot
I play this course a lot the last month something has gone wrong. The course awhile back seemed like it was coming along. The greens were getting better rolling good. Fairways seemed to be coming along. But last 3 times out very disappointing greens are not good fairways dropped off a lot. Bunkers were worked on awhile back have gone south. This could be an amazing place if owners took some pride in it to bad
Greens Need Work
Played this course many times but probably the worst I have seen the greens. They are currently almost unplayable due to a mix of sand, unevenness and some mushy oft green colored areas. Tee boxes need some attention and the fairways are bare and tight.
Love this course...challenging yet enjoyable!
This was my first time playing this course and I have already contacted two other friends to tell them about the course. My friend and I have decided to have a standing "golf play date." Had a super fun time!
Haven’t played this course in 4-5 years.
Had an early tee time. Course was a little wet in the morning. Greens were a little slow. Once the water dried up, the greens ran well. The course looked great. Good pace of play. The course was not too crowded. All in all a good experience and will definitely be back for more rounds.
abandoned
started our round on palmetto at 7am. made the turn on Post and was backed up with late starters. abandoned the round. Mgmt said we played too fast. prob won't be playing Longwood in a while .
Not as good as it has been
Looks to be still recovering from all of the water the course has had in the past. Getting better.
Fun and challenging
The course has a great layout with some pretty technical features. Payson place was great for Thursday afternoon with perfect weather conditions. I really like that they have three courses nine holes each.
It’s beeb 5 years since I’ve played Longwood
Friendly service great price value at least thru golfnow.com. Some of the same issues on the course that I remembered. Some T boxes are in poor shape. Some greens have spotted areas of dirt. Most of greens ran slow but clean reads are there. Extreme slow play. Seniors playing back to back to back 2 sums. A lot of recent ball marks on the greens. Nothing the course can do on a daily basis, but that tells me more about the kind of golfers that use the course. I’ll be back soon
Greens still not good, then they also had pins in areas where greens were in bad shape! Pace of play for a Tuesday was not great.
Golf value
Greens are a little slow and spoty but roll true. I always enjoy the layout.
Get out and play
The greens and fairways are in great shape for the most part. Considering how hot and dry it’s been this course is great shape.
