Poor Green conditions
Have always liked the layout of the 3 nines at Longwood, but poor green conditions make it hard to be positive about it currently!!
Most of other courses in the area have good or improving green conditions after a wet winter, they are behind here. Very slow, grainy greens that had bad dirt spots on many greens!!!
Hope things improve here soon
1 guy.
Good value. Fairways in good shape. Greens a bit rough. Staff is decent except for one a!$hole I run into on weekday afternoons and sometimes weekend mornings. Rude. We get it dude, your life sucks, mine doesnt. Cheer up or go do something else. You dont have to be there. Quit acting like doing your job is such an inconvenience to others. You're one more rude comment to me away from a 9 iron to your face.
Greens need attention
Overall, this is a good course. Staff was great, layout was challenging, bunkers maintained. The only downside were the greens and tee boxes. Tee boxes should be mowed to fairway length and the greens need some serious love. On some holes, you literally have to move your ball 10-12 feet to have a smooth surface to putt. Some tee boxes were so overgrown it was like teeing off in the rough. With some attention to the greens and tee boxes, I'd come back and play. Until then, I'll play somewhere else.
Save your money !!
Wow the tee boxes are either dead or not mowed. All greens on Post Oak and Pine have large areas of no grass. I don't think I have ever seen a approach shot hit the green and act like a bunker shot. The best thing for Longwood is to close for a season and repair the basics and then reopen. The driving range tee box looks like the second cut of rough.
Slow Pace Of Play
Took 5:30 to play the round. No excuse for that. Never saw a marshal all day. Course was fair and greens were slow
Slowwwwwww
Despite copious rain the previous day the course was hard as a rock and dry. Interesting challenging layout is let down by green quality and poor grounds management throughout the course.
Be prepared for a round just south of 6 hours if it's nice out.
This course doesn't drain well after rain.
This is a major issue the greens are bad work on them.
Soft course with good fairways
Fast course pace played after rain so very soft, I enjoyed the round, played Palm and Post.
Greens
Everything was good except the greens. We played palm to post. Post greens were better than Palms. Palms greens need some work. Very bumpy and need a lot of repair. I do recommend friends to play there bc usually the greens are good. They wasn’t good this time. I’ll try back in a month and give them a chance to repair them
Very Slow groups ahead oh us, some people so slow to putt & get off the greens; greens are poor...
Ok round at Longwood, disappointing greens when many other courses in area their greens are good or getting better when spring is here!!
Like the layouts of the 3 distinct 9’s, but fairways & greens should be better!!
Not a friendly personnel
You booked this course and when we got there they did not have my reservation. They guy at the Pro shop was very rude and did not attempt to fix the problem. He just limited to say it’s a problem of the booking colpany
Rude staff, terrible greens
I have been playing this course for 5 years now and it has not improved. The staff, however, has been rude the last few times I have been out to hit a bucket of golf balls. The gentleman there this morning was nice and polite, I guess he likes his job, but the gentleman there Thursday early afternoon was rude and gave me 2 and a half baskets instead of 3 full baskets. I question it because there was a line and I do not want to make a scene. Next time he may not be so lucky. The greens, I mean patches of dirt and weeds, are slow and inconsistent. The fairways arent bad but you better hope your approach shot is either close or not in a divot on the green. I wish they would close 9 holes for 2 months and reseed and sand them to get them in better shape. I wouldn't pay more than $20 to play here. Play Houston national instead.
Wouldn’t take much effort to make a big improvement
Fun, challenging course. Having 3, 9 hole courses changes this up each round. Just do the little things. Clean the bathrooms, blow leaf litter of the greens before midday. Good course, good staff.
Not this course
From poor conditions to overcrowding the play was painful. People very friendly but course conditions very poor, and overcroweded.
Do not recommend this course.
Okay for Price
It was an okay course. I probably caught course on bad day with it having a tournament and putting all the non tourney players on same 9 to play twice in afternoon. Pace of play was very slow.
still winter
While you can see there is work being done, they have a ways to go.
Thin grass in fairways and bumpy greens.
It is still winter and the grass is not growing yet.
Hopefully the grounds crew can get it all together by the spring. If this course had greens like there sister course Cypress Lakes it would be great.
