Good course/poor attitude
Was able to play palmetto and post for the 18 holes (split into 9 holes). The course was in average to good condition. It has some real potential to be great but they can't seem to get It all together. The greens we at best average. Some had large, what appeared to be mold spots that were reduced to dirt and we not fair to putt through. I put poor attitude because the staff always appears to be agitated by golfers, or at least me trying to golf. They are always short and seem to be in a bad mood. In the 5 years I have frequented this course I have not seen anyone but the female in charge of memberships smile. I played as a single and was able to get around the slow groups and finish the round in 2 and a half hours. Tee time was around mid afternoon for reference for those that try to get on and off the course before losing 20 lbs of sweat.
Good worth
Had a 12:30 tee time off of a hot deal, $16 to play so it was a no brainer to take. Course was in better condition than I have ever seen, still not amazing but very well to play on. Tee boxes on non par 3’s had St. Augusteen grass/weeds, but par 3 tee boxes were nice. Only played 9 holes on Pine and had to leave because it took me 2 hours to play due to some slow foursomes and I could only play for 3, so didn’t want ro have to stop in the middle of the back 9 and go home. I only give staff friendliness 3 stars because I didn’t have much interaction and they were never ugly or mean, just quiet and kind of “there”. But met all of my needs and i greatly enjoyed my cheap round. Booked @ 10am the day of. I’d definitely do again.
Pine / Postoak
Course in good shape. Greens in nice condition. Little on slow side. Lots of ball marks. Golfers Repair your ball marks. Some of the Tee boxes are not flat and markers are only spaced 4-5 feet wide. No beverage cart making rounds. Could use a couple more water jugs on Postoak.
It’s Longwood!
I like the course layout of Longwood, a few of the par fives are in terrible conditions. The greens are super slow. It’s a good place to gets rounds in to improve your game for the right price of course.
First time back since Harvey
I had heard the course took a lot of damage from hurricane Harvey flooding. All in all the course was in pretty good shape. Some sand traps are now grass traps, which could be expected. Good value still. Pace was a little slow, but it was memorial day weekend, so not surprising.
12 holes and 3 hours into it we said that’s enough.
Way to crowded with no effort on making the groups speed up. Greens where better than I have ever seen them there though.
Slow greens
Have not played this course in a while after practicing over at Cypress Lakes and they're fast greens could not get the speed right as they were considerably slower however the course play nicely Fairways are in good condition ;overall had a pretty good experience pace-of-play was good for a Saterday will definitely be back glad to see the course coming back
The return to good
This is one of the best courses in Houston when I first started playing golf good to see it’s coming back
The course was good and play was great looking to visit again soon
Much better
There are some spots on a few greens that are washed out but overall the greens are in MUCH better condition. We are looking forward to playing again here soon!
