R1 The Ridge at Castle Pines

My review of The Ridge is 5 out of 10. I am a Coloado native. Nothing really impressed me of the grounds or even the views of which were named signature holes. Not as grand as people / advertised. Unfortunately we were notified Cart Path only due to the rain storm the previous night. After all of that, we were rained out after the 15th hole. The Ridge is overrated, No views, no special hole. Just inflated round charge $171.00. I took a 4 day trip to Mesquite NV this past April. All of the courses visited were brilliant views, layout, and every course fee $150 w/Cart

Greens not up to par

Greens at local muni’s are in better shape than The Ridge. Expect more from Troon Golf who manages this course. 5 hours for a round on a weekday is too long. For the price of this course, you expect a more.

Course in bad shape

Tee boxes were over run with weeds

Half the fairway was dead

Bunkers hard as a rock and had big chunks of rocks

Not worth the price

Beware of this once former beauty….

The Ridge has fallen apart in 2024. Bunkers are basically gravel. Course is unkempt and dry. Pace of play was incredibly slow and not a single Ranger present to move things along. On the other hand, the scrub oak has been cleared, relieving the course of its original hill country character, the staff is super arrogant and the prices are resort caliber expensive….

Not worth the money

If you’re expecting fresh tee boxes, nice greens, great bunkers, and great friendly service don’t come here. Our round was at 2 pm and pace of play was decent but the beverage carts left around 2 or 3. They said if you want something to drink “just get it on the turn”. The bunkers were trash. Zero sand in them and some had weeds growing out of them. The tee boxes had truck loads of sand on them. I played this course a couple years ago and I came back because I remember it being immaculate and worth a semi more expensive experience. The 2 courses in castle rock, Colorado are a far better experience and have better conditions and similar views.

Great quality

Loved the free range balls and overall conditions of the course. Tee boxes were sanded, but not a big deal. Bunkers were nice. After the round the staff told me that they were planning to renovate the bunkers in the fall, so they could have actual sand instead of dirt lol. Overall loved the course…I recommend it

All the trees and brush they’ve cleared really don’t add to the aesthetic value. In fact it’s ugly where they cleared it out…..

Getting stupid for the money as well, but get it while you can I guess? Lived in the neighborhood twenty years been my home course for all of them, but not anymore traveling to other places.

A beautiful challenge

Tight off the tee, good conditions, and a really fun layout.

The back 9 is 2x better than the front, and the front is still great. I wish I could have played it 2x.

I’d much prefer it over arrowhead or fossil trace as someone visiting

Trash!

$206 for this course is a joke. The traps are a joke, rocks and gravel, absolute disaster. 5.5 hour round. The trash was overflowing on each hole. No marshalls on the course. Place was worth $60 tops but not $206. Giant waste of moeny! Avoid at all cost!!

Decent course

Price is not worth it in the summer as they try to rush you and book way too many people to be back to back. Will not be visiting anymore this year due to the pace of play and price.

Great but needs work

This would be a 5 star golf course with better bunkers. The bunkers are filled with rocks and basically unplayable. The rest of the course is awesome. Greens were soft and well maintained with very difficult pin positions.

Great round.

Great pace on front. Had the course to ourselves. Back nine was slow. I think people jumped on and we followed several twosomes.

Bunkers need serious work. Course layout was great, and views are fantastic.
