While on the expensive side this course is excellent and always in great shape. It is by no means easy it will challenge even the best players. Still very playable for your mid-handicapper. The bunkers are really horrible but that is the only drawback to this course.
Beware of the bunkers
For 150.00 a round you would hope they put sand in the bunkers, the course for the most part is in great shape but every bunker they have has huge rocks in them and NO sand so make sure you take some cheap wedges to play those shots! For as much as they charge to play there you would think it would be better, I play courses all over Colorado every week and this by far has the worst sand traps I have encountered, better courses for a lot less money, just my two cents
Dear Kevin7238804,
Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate your comments and certainly take them to heart.
The bunkers are certainly on our capital improvement list with ownership. They are a very large investment requiring close to $1M to do it correctly.
Although this is the case, we have a maintenance plan in place over the next few years to add sand every year to the bunkers. This won't completely solve the issue as drainage is the main problem (every time it rains, rocks and dirt wash into our bunkers), but it will make playability much better.
Please let us know if we can assist further. Have a great day!

Great Course
Booking directly with the course is much less expensive than golf now. They offer various rates based on age, etc.
The course conditions are always great. The layout is a lot of fun. It's a course that is more fun the second or third time as course knowledge is a huge advantage.
The price is over priced due to the fact that they don't offer a GPS or yardage book with the carts. There are a lot of times i'd love to know how it it is to a certain bunker, etc. I have a range finder, but a yardage book or cart GPS would be expected for a $145 / round course.
Pace of play sucks. Many high handicappers and groups on vacation play this course so you WILL get stuck behind a lot of slow players when playing Fri-Sun.
Dear gjordan11,
Thanks for playing the Ridge! We certainly appreciate your feedback.
Although we don't have GPS, we do offer an app with GPS and a yardage card. Next time you come out, search for our app by Best Approach.
Thanks again and have a great day!

Great course, will play again for sure
I played The Ridge twice in one week and will definitely play it again. The staff was friendly, the range was in good shape (balls are a little old), the course conditions were overall excellent. The issue that people have been commenting about is the greens on 12-15. Frankly, big deal, they'll get better and we were forewarned that there was a problem from winter recovery here. I really liked the course. Wouldn't call it a walker's course, but it's not far off (a few holes had long green-to-next-tee distances). There are no throw away holes and the layout was interesting and required thinking. We played early and quickly. Pace of play was excellent. That's just good planning on our part...
We had lunch on one of the two days and it was good. The restaurant seemed to be designed by someone who dislikes light. Great patio and view of 18th green. First day starter/marshal was super friendly and informative. 2nd day, not so much, but we shook him off quickly. If you are thinking of playing this course, you should.
Dear wcohen,
Thank you for your comments, and certainly appreciate you visiting our facility. Please come back in the near future!

Nice Course Horrible Pace of Play
I love this course, but will not be coming back. Almost 6 hours to play 18 is unacceptable. Let the outside service staff know it was playing slow and he laughed and comment "it's that time of the year". It is NEVER that time of the year for almost a 6 hour round. At one point there were 4 groups waiting on the 10th tee. Additionally there are usually 2-3 greens that are in very poor shape. Fix the pace and the green conditions on the back 9 and I'd consider coming back, till then there are much better options for the price.
Mixed
I was very impressed with the off the course amenities. 4-stars.
The front was in great shape, the greens were challenging, but 12-16 greens were in horrible shape. Was like putting on carpet. All of the bunkers were in terrible shape. Was nervous hitting out of the with all of the rocks within the bunkers.
Overall, I was pleased with my experience. Just would like to see a course of this level, have much better sand and maintained bunkers.
Dear dfuller78,
Thank you for providing feedback regarding your recent experience. We appreciate this feedback as it helps us moving forward.
We did have a tough winter on the back nine (greens 12-16) with limited sunshine and limited snow cover. This created some areas that had to be completely reseeded. The process is nearly complete, and should be 100% within the next week or two.
The bunkers are certainly in need of repair. We have a maintenance plan in place this summer to add sand to each bunker, improving the overall playability. The hope is in the future, to do a complete overhaul of the bunkers. Total cost is in the $750k - $1m mark, making it a large capital investment.
We hope to see you again soon, and certainly hope the information above helps explain our plan moving forward. We value our guest experience, and put agronomy at the top of the list when it comes to importance.
Thanks for your time, and let me know if I can help further.

Amenities.
Poor value!
Dear u607449214,
Thanks for your comments, and for visiting the Ridge. Sorry to hear that your experience wasn't up to par.
We have had numerous comments that the golf course conditions are the best in the Denver market for this time of year. Certainly would like the opportunity to discuss this further with you as this is concerning to me.
I am additionally concerned with the comments regarding golf course amenities as we do our best to provide the extra service that you would typically find at Troon facilities. We would love to find out where we fell short, so we can improve moving forward.
I appreciate your time and looking forward to hearing from you. I can be reached at 720.360.4352.

Must have been a tough winter - Course conditions
We booked a twosome to play on April 8th. I was not happy with the conditions on the back 9, holes 12,13,14,15 were worse than all the previous years in the last 15 years. No mention of the condition at check in. I know those holes typically have shade and are slow to melt, but the fairway on 13 and the greens on those holes were horrible.
Thanks for your review! We appreciate your comments and feedback.
We apologize that we didn't mention these conditions at checkin. The Ridge is at 6500' and has several holes that don't see sun in the winter months. Typically those holes see the worst of it. We have since reseeded and topdressed to start healthy grass growth on the shaded spots.
We do discount fees due to this in the spring as we know our golf course is not in its summer form. Come play us again in a week or so and things will be on the upswing!
Thanks and have a great day

First time playing but not the last
The course was fair and interesting. Loved the elevation changes and hunkering. The conditions for mid March were better than expected. Fairways were lush to hit from. I wish cart paths only were not in effect but still got thru in 4.5 hours as a foursome. I understand the need to protect the turf in the early season
Well done!!!
Ed

Beautiful Golf Course
Every time I play this golf course it is enjoyable. Amazing views, creative golf holes, and perfect conditions make for an awesome round anytime you play. It's a little pricey but worth it to play at least once. The back nine is the better of the 2 in my opinion. It meanders through a forest and has some great holes with dramatic elevation change. I'd highly recommend playing if you have the chance.
Should be a 4 or 5 star course
Staff over watered (we haven't had rain in weeks) and forced us to take cart path only. Pace of play sucked also because they clearly stacked the tee sheets too full. We waited long periods on every hole for the group in front of us and always felt rushed by the group behind us on every hole also. When will courses realize 10-12 minutes between tee times really isn't a big deal??? With this layout this should be one of the best places to play in the state, but the staff keeps stepping on their own toes by doing stuff that's dumb.
Dear jd6236,
Thanks for your comments and for playing the Ridge! We really appreciate your feedback as it helps us pinpoint areas of concern.
I would like the opportunity to take this conversation offline, and help explain our turf practices in the Winter months. I appologize that your day was not up to par, and we would like the opportunity to make things right. I can be reached at 720.360.4352.
