Very good value
We had a good time. This time of year there is not much of a crowd so the pace was pretty much what you make it, no one pushing you. Course was in very good shape and I will play there again.
Course needs alot of care and maintenance
Course conditions are poor. There was saturated water standing in the fairways, the fairways were cut uneven, pitted greens, tee box had grass that was over 3 inches higher than ball sitting on tee, standing water in several bunkers, duck and bird droppings on 16 and 17 greens and tee box. Rough had weeds growing on several fairways! Will not play course or recommend course until these conditions are remedied.
slow play
Play started well, and we moved steadily through the front nine. The back nine was different. Even though there were two groups stacked up at the tee boxes a couple of times, we didn"t see a ranger asking the slow group to pick up the pace. We like to play ready golf and the group ahead of us persisted in following "etiquette" at the expense of all who followed. By the end of the day we were all tired of waiting to play while the group ahead of us seemed to show little consideration for their speed of play.
Poor tees, greens and admin.
Upon arrival cost different than advertised on golf now. Fairways in shabby and burnt condition. Only 1 level tee block on 18 holes. Greens okay but differ greatly in speed. Water hazards hard to decipher, as all guides posts were unreadable. Took 2-3/4 hrs. To play front nine. Upon reaching hole 10 a five some was allowed to play thru, And back nine took 3 hrs. Very disappointed in everything about course will definitely not recommend to any one I talk to in Maricopa, az.
Disappointed
We started out early in the morning and had a good front nine, but when we hit hole 10 found out that there was a shotgun start for a ladies' group that filled up the entire back nine. It took us three hours to play the last nine holes as we were backed up with two and sometimes three groups waiting on the same tee box.
It would have been appreciated if the pro shop had warned us of this event beforehand. Needless to say, we were disappointed with the extremely slow pace of play.
Another coarse
Nicely laid out coarse, to much sand and gravel on the edge of the fairways if your not a low handicap hitter. Staff very friendly and helpful, the price is reasonable, would recommend to others.
Snowbird review
Very accommodating--played in just under 4hours which was great-for a Sunday--greens were tough with the pin placements--tee boxes were in need of mowing but overall condition was OK, for the price paid!
Liability Insurance?
We had played seven holes and a guy came by in a cart and told us we had to have the carts in by 5:45 for liability insurance reasons. We skipped four holes on the back and were hitting our approaches to eighteen at 5:50 and the same guy came by and said that we had to pick up our balls and quit. We had at least 45 minutes of daylight left and a whole 5 to 10 minutes to finish up.
I have never heard of a golf course with a liability insurance policy where carts had to be in off the course 45 minutes to an hour before darkness, plus we were not told of any such restrictions when we signed for the carts. I will never play Arizona City again.
duffer
I have played this course 3 times since 1-21-15. course is good condition, staff is very nice, food on 2 occasions was very good. HOWEVER , it may be minor gripe, but the same facilities - urinal, towel dispenser have been labeled "out of order" for over a month, I mean come on.
Nice course
Enjoyed the course. Pace of play was extremely slow. Staff were friendly. Very pretty setting.
Good challenging course
This is a good course with some challenging holes.
There is plenty of holes where water comes into play.
The greens where a bit slow but in good shape.
The fairways and tee boxes needed to be cut but this was due to an equipment breakdown .
A day well spent
Paired up with a great couple for front 9. Very challenging greens with many undulations. Fairways also very challenging with some bare patches. Overall an excellent way to spend a day.
Basic course with slow play.
First time we played this course the course was not in good shape at all, but we thought we would give it a second chance. The second time was just as bad as the first time we played. Purchased a soda that was 6 months out of date. Women's restroom out of toilet paper. Overall the course needed a good clean up.
Shape shots
This course is in vary good shape soft greens and fairways, can be played by all categories of players, course has multiple tee boxes for all player types,I'll play it again.
Improved course
I played this course a couple years ago and there was almost no grass except on tee boxes and greens. Now they have beautiful green fairways. The greens are in great shape. It was slow playing due to frost delay.
basic golf with slow play
we played on a day with frost delay so it was pretty slow and then they let 5 somes and real beginners out which did hot help and they expected us to finish on time, the fairways were nice to hit off of the greens rolled very well a good collection of easy to hard holes but I think if you were going to play I would wait until the shoulder seasons to get rid of the traffic
Az City Country Club in great shape
Congrats to the whole crew at Az City. You've done a great job with the place over the past few years. I've been golfing there for 30 years, and it's again one of my favorites in central Arizona.
Great value... good greens!
Great little course for the money! I would play this course again.
