Tough Course from the blues
Great condition had a good round but it’s a little long for me from the blue tees. My playing partner was not a long ball hitter and was frequently 20 yards shorter than me. Don’t know why most golfers in LA think they need to hit from the tips. On a good day I drive it about 240-250. The white tees are more enjoyable for me. If you can’t reach the green in regulation on almost every hole, move up! Just a little rant
Great course for long hitters
Overall a forgiving course. Only a few penalty areas you can find yourself in. Fairways are nice, rough isn’t patchy, and overall the greens were in great shape! Industry hills also offers the Babe course which is a lot more narrow but short from tee to green. Very scenic course.
What a disappointment
Take your money and goto another course, and you have to share a cart when you’re playing single
Terribly slow and overpriced
Took 3 hours to play the front 9. Had to quit because it was taking too long. Not once did I see a Marshall. And course conditions are not worth the price.
Challenging course, no water in sight
The course itself is exceptionally long from the Blue tees so be prepared to hit long irons and blind shots into many of the holes on your second shots.
The tee boxes were not in the best shape and the course was made much more difficult by placing the tees on sides of the tee boxes which put trees in direct line with the fairway. Definitely be prepared to hit both draws and fades off different tees to even have a chance here.
The one thing that really stood out to me is there are zero water stations on the course. For being in an area where the heat can really get high, this is super dangerous as evidenced by the unfortunate event that happened there yesterday, so pack as much water as your bag can fit!
All that being said, the staff was very kind and informative during check-in but we had a really tough time figuring out where to the clubhouse was and tee off. And the range is in a different part of the campus so give yourself ample time before your round to figure all of this out. I think the wayfinding for the course can be improved.
But for what you pay here, I think the course is more than worth it, and each round you play the IKE course your score will improve.
Slow
Course was soaked and played wet, bunkers was completely inconsistent and had vegetation in them, waited on every shot. With LA county covid policy, course will force you to pair up with random strangers as a single.
A good day in a good course.
The course was in good condition except for the tee boxes where the grass was sloppy and the sand traps kinda hard and not prepped for play. Pin placement was too difficult for a weekday play which made for slow play.
San Gabriel Valley Gem
Difficult course ... that goes unsaid ../ but what’s more difficult is trying not to be a tourist and just break out the cellphone to take pics ... pristine course Highly recommend
