From everyone that I talked to, this course is the lesser of the 2 courses. After playing both, it's just as good if not better. I think people may not have as good a time because the course is harder and makes you play a certain way. I like the Southwest much better than the Northeast.
Cart staff wasn’t very nice
The guy that checked me in was great. The two older guys assigning carts were kind of rude. The course was great. The signs from hole to hole needs some work. It’s like they think everyone knows the layout
Monday golf
Course and weather were great. Greens and fairways in great shape. Challenging course but a little pricey for a public course.
Course is in decent shape
I played North/east - Tee boxes and greens are in great shape - Fairways are decent - rough is coming in nicely
Ratigans
Liked the par five and par 3 mix. Lots of different looks. Greens and fairways in good shape
Compass Pointe a definite Play.
Extremely impressed with all aspects of this facility.
Since Indigo Partners are taking over Bowie this course Compass Pointe alleviates my concerns at BGC.
Time for a new green keeper.
Five hours and 15 minutes in the middle of the week is unacceptable. Very slow play. Greens were all beat up. This course needs either a new greens keeper, or they need to review his budget. Price was high for the condition of the course.
Greens need some love
I enjoyed playing here and still am a novice player but even I was aware of the poor condition of greens and many divets.
Really nice
Drove 21 minutes away from downtown Annapolis to this great course. Driving range, chipping green and putting practice was a great start to this round of Maryland golf. We were in town with one day for golf and this was a great spot. Would come back again for the beautiful layout and quality of fairways, tee boxes and greens. Does not get any better than this for this price!!
Great course!
Really nice course with a great layout. I played North/East and really enjoyed it.
Played South West - Good Layout
Solid for a county complex with 36 holes. Played as a twosome for $105 total - 1 Veteran, 1 County resident - was definitely worth the $52.50 with cart. Starter let us go as a two when the other twosome failed to show. 1pm tee time, overcast with rain in the am to scare a few plus a friendly foursome that let us through allowed for a 3 1/2 hour round. Tee boxes in reasonable shape with a few thin spots and grass a tad high. Fairways solid. Greens didn’t look pretty, lots of ballmark scars. However were reasonable pace and rolled true. As for the layout, this is not your average muni. Hopes are well layed out and routed through tall trees, with amply-wide fairways and landing areas. Water and waste areas are in play on a reasonable number of holes. 12 or 13 holes involved water or a forced carry. Played whites at 6095 yds, 122 slope. Required an occasional non-driver selection on a few 4s and 5s. Fairways were fairly wide and forgiving. Nicely designed green complexes in decent shape. Fairway and green side traps were in excellent condition - sand ample and fluffy. Would definitely play again. Great value. Heard the Northeast is worth a play as well.
