About

Holes 18
Type Public
Par 72
Length 6782 yards
Slope 129
Rating 72.7

Parlaying the successes of the Dallas-area Tour 18, Houston's version of America's greatest holes has become one of Harris County's most popular golf destinations. This one takes advantage of the Southeast Texas pines, with towering trees lining every hole, and the impressive conditions that have made both Tour 18s popular with the public.

Two holes stand out on the front side, and they're not the replicas of Augusta's Amen Corner (5-7 on this track). No. 1 is perhaps the most difficult on the course, intimidating off the tee because it is surrounded by wetlands. You'll need a solid drive to start well on this narrow, 440-yard hole. Bay Hill, La Costa, Inverness, and Pinehurst are also modeled, but the other great hole on the front is No. 9, a version of TPC Sawgrass's island hole.

Texas' own Colonial's third hole makes a showing on No. 12, and you'll get to see what Pebble Beach might feel like on No. 13. And those who've played the Dallas track know that the crew can sometimes get diabolical with their stimp-meter readings and pin placements, which is similar to what happens on No. 15-a replica of Shinnecock Hills' 8th hole. The green on this one slopes so heavily toward the front that a three-jack is almost certain.

Doral rears its head on No. 18, the perfect finishing hole for this track. Play the approach to the right side of the green, away from the water left, just like the pros do when they're protecting that precious lead.

Getting there : From US 59 north, turn right on FM 1960 and drive east for about 2 miles to the course entrance.

Excellent Course

By far the best course for the money in the Houston area. Rain a couple of days before forced cart path only conditions, and still were able to finish in just a bit less than 4 hours, excellent as this course can play slow at times. Traps were still wet but overall the course was in great shape

Poor pace of play

Very cool layout, but the pace of play was a five hour round!

Not for the feint of heart

This course is amazing and worth the price. 18 of Jack’s favorites holes from around the US definitely doesn’t disappoint BUT remember, Jack is perhaps the greatest of all time. For the mid to high handicapper, this plays like a collection of top handicap holes for the entire round. All are amazing but require consistent ball striking. Not a lot of margin for error on most holes. A large number of protected greens, water carries and angled fairways that require precision. The greens and fairways were in excellent shape. Some of the traps (and we found several) were washed out or very compacted sand that made recovery very challenging. Pro shop is very nice with some great logo’s gear from top brands. Bar area is well stocked and menu looked good. No ball washers or drinking water on the course. Stock up at clubhouse because cart girls only come through about 1x a round.

Fun challenging course

One of my favorite courses around Houston and right now it’s in great condition! Greens were in great shape as of 4/12/24. I always look forward to playing here.

Pace of play can get a little slow but not bad compared to some places.

The Tour

Tour 18 is always an exciting round of golf the front nine is a great blend of exciting holes … the back nine isn’t as exciting as the front but still a very solid test of your golf ability … I have to say that the fairways could use a little more grass on them as that are very thin in spots … the greens could use alittle more attention and perhaps rolled a little more often there are alot of ball marks that people don’t repair … the bunkers could use a little more sand and attention .. but I like the course I always have … but they get enough money for the green fees (. $100 ) they should spend alittle more on the course conditions ESPECIALLY. The hitting mats in the practice area … they have been there since the place was built and it shows … your will break your wrist hitting off them … they are horrible … Horrible…. They really need to put some work into the place to get it back to a premier destination course … they are getting stingy on the up keep …

The course is awesome mixing together everything from Augusta to Pebble Beach. If you’re military make sure you let them know, they have a great discount

Poor course conditions

No sand in bunkers plus numerous bare patches around greens and in fairways. Course seems to really be going down hill but prices have gone up.

Tour 18

One of the slowest rounds I’ve played in a while around five hours, and no marshal to keep the pace of play going in front of us. How can you be $120 course with no marshals!??

Good but expensive for the course

The site is nice and the course is good but, for this price you expect perfect greens, ball shaggers, better cars and others, There are courses around for the half with much better facilities

Great course

Golf course is in very good shape.

Very challenging, just hit from the correct box for your game

Play number 2 conservatively. Bite off too much of the lake and you will be looking at double bogey.

Island greens are fun with a very forgiving drop zones.

All said it’s a fun golf course.
