Rating 72.7

Parlaying the successes of the Dallas-area Tour 18, Houston's version of America's greatest holes has become one of Harris County's most popular golf destinations. This one takes advantage of the Southeast Texas pines, with towering trees lining every hole, and the impressive conditions that have made both Tour 18s popular with the public.

Two holes stand out on the front side, and they're not the replicas of Augusta's Amen Corner (5-7 on this track). No. 1 is perhaps the most difficult on the course, intimidating off the tee because it is surrounded by wetlands. You'll need a solid drive to start well on this narrow, 440-yard hole. Bay Hill, La Costa, Inverness, and Pinehurst are also modeled, but the other great hole on the front is No. 9, a version of TPC Sawgrass's island hole.

Texas' own Colonial's third hole makes a showing on No. 12, and you'll get to see what Pebble Beach might feel like on No. 13. And those who've played the Dallas track know that the crew can sometimes get diabolical with their stimp-meter readings and pin placements, which is similar to what happens on No. 15-a replica of Shinnecock Hills' 8th hole. The green on this one slopes so heavily toward the front that a three-jack is almost certain.

Doral rears its head on No. 18, the perfect finishing hole for this track. Play the approach to the right side of the green, away from the water left, just like the pros do when they're protecting that precious lead.

Getting there : From US 59 north, turn right on FM 1960 and drive east for about 2 miles to the course entrance.

More sand please!!!

All the work done on the bunkers over last couple years is gone downhill. Normal middle of the bunker shot exposed the carpet liner….. guess where my ball ended up….. gone!

Always is and has been an enjoyable course to play.

I will play again in the future. I was surprised at the condition of the course. My compliments to the greens keeper and to the staff at Tour 18.

Fantasy pro

Always a good time at this course, alot of fun and challenging shots. If you can survive hole 2 then you're golden. If I could really pick on something to improve it'd be the practice facility. Thus would highlight widening the range as well as lengthening. Put up nets on the right hand side to catch strays going onto the 18th, also a larger putting green including a chipping area. Other than that its an pretty awesome place to play.

As usual, you pay a little more and you get a lot more at Tour 18❗️

This course is an amazing rendition of many holes that the PGA players play every year. This was my fourth or fifth time playing it, and I brought a friend and his son who are new to golf, had some extra money to spend on their round, and I didn’t hesitate to take them to Tour 18. They thoroughly enjoyed it and so did I. Keep up the great work as the course was, as usual, well-maintained, it would be even better (and I would play here a lot more), if the price were a little lower. Overall, it was a great round, and, if they had a membership, I would probably join.

Rude Staff

The guy who answers the phone is rude. I called to ask what the weather was like and if they’re still open because we didn’t want to drive an hour out just to be rained out, and the guy said “I’m not the weatherman and people are still booking tee times” and then hung up.

I’ve played the course a year ago and remember it being nice but didn’t remember the customer service being awful. Especially when asking a reasonable question for being from south Houston.

I ended up cancelling my tee time.

What a layout

The tournament course at Golf Club of Houston is an amazing layout. It would have been better if every tee wasn’t moved up. Staff was friendly. The group ahead of us thought that utilizing the fairways as a trash can was pro move, I tend to disagree. Same said group also thought 5.5 hours was adequate pace, again disagree.

With that being said if you don’t get stuck behind a road of douche canoes it should be an amazing day with amazing food and amazing amenities.

Beautiful Course, Beautiful Day !

Can’t say anything negative about this course. The fairways were fully grassed, the rough was hard to get out of. Sand traps had proper amount of fine sand. Greens were true. A perfect time to play this course !!!

Too much money for course conditions

This course charges over $100 for a course that is not in over $100 conditions. If I wanted to play on a course that was in this condition I would pay $50-$60. The grass was not in good shape in some places & most of the tee boxes were hacked up. The bridges have been in bad shape for a long time & have never been repaired. Greens had crab grass & were not in that great of shape. If I was to rate this course on overall 1 out of 10 I would rate it a 5-6. I have played this course several times & it has been in better shape but it seems they have let it go a little, so to still charge over $100 is a rip off

Great Experience and Welcoming Staff

First and foremost the staff was so friendly and respectful. Easy to chat with and made the pro shop and restaurant experience blissful.

Course was in a good shape and was a great time. The ability to enjoy simulated Tour level holes was great. I wish I could play it a couple more times and shot some better scores!

Range facility is small, but in good shape. Putting green played almost identically to the on course greens.

Wow! Tour 18 - Golf Heaven!

On the spur of the moment decided to go play after it rained... Beautiful weather sunny skies. Booked it on Golf Now.

Quickly in and out of the pro shop. Warmed up and then played "lights out" good, starting off with 2 birdies.

No traffic...played fast. Greens were perfect.

Every hole was a dream!

Definitely recommend this course it is a beautiful shape....
