Tour 18 Houston

About
Parlaying the successes of the Dallas-area Tour 18, Houston's version of America's greatest holes has become one of Harris County's most popular golf destinations. This one takes advantage of the Southeast Texas pines, with towering trees lining every hole, and the impressive conditions that have made both Tour 18s popular with the public.
Two holes stand out on the front side, and they're not the replicas of Augusta's Amen Corner (5-7 on this track). No. 1 is perhaps the most difficult on the course, intimidating off the tee because it is surrounded by wetlands. You'll need a solid drive to start well on this narrow, 440-yard hole. Bay Hill, La Costa, Inverness, and Pinehurst are also modeled, but the other great hole on the front is No. 9, a version of TPC Sawgrass's island hole.
Texas' own Colonial's third hole makes a showing on No. 12, and you'll get to see what Pebble Beach might feel like on No. 13. And those who've played the Dallas track know that the crew can sometimes get diabolical with their stimp-meter readings and pin placements, which is similar to what happens on No. 15-a replica of Shinnecock Hills' 8th hole. The green on this one slopes so heavily toward the front that a three-jack is almost certain.
Doral rears its head on No. 18, the perfect finishing hole for this track. Play the approach to the right side of the green, away from the water left, just like the pros do when they're protecting that precious lead.
Getting there : From US 59 north, turn right on FM 1960 and drive east for about 2 miles to the course entrance.

Day out
Course was an excellent shape. Very fun course and very challenging.
FUN
That the bottom line about this coarse…..Fun!
All the classic hole in one location. Challenging and just a great day of golf.
Love this course
I'll probably never get to play these holes in real life so it's very nice to have this blessing, love Amen corner 🤙 and you will too Friendly staff all the time and a hidden gem in my book. There's a few bunkers without sand but most of them were raked and very nice. I like the combination tees and course never let's me down.
Matts only on range which I'm not a huge fan of, not a negative just letting you know. Great course and worth it.
Niche Course, DO NOT WALK!!!
Played this for the first time. I agree with many other reviews in that it is unique and niche. When “copying” other courses holes though, really what that means is this course does not “flow” all that well, and lacks any originality. Still, its an interesting experience. Is it worth $100…? I don’t really think so, but I think it’s worth playing at least once.
However! If you do play it, DO NOT WALK! I was warned by the staff and did not listen. Holy he!! that is a long walk! Turns out when you copy other courses, you need to find places on property that align with what you need, rather than shaping a hole according to what’s there. As a result there is some REALLY long distances between greens and next tees. I’m talking REALLY long.
Very fun layout
First time ever playing Tour 18. I chose it for it's proximity to the airport so I could squeeze in a round after I arrived in town. The clubhouse and restaurant were really nice and staff were very friendly. The driving range was cheap, only $6 for a bucket, but had only mats to hit from that day. I really enjoyed the layout of the course, it was fun to read about each hole's inspiration and famous events that had taken place on it. Not having played any of these courses in real life, I can't say how well they've been recreated. I only gave the course 4 stars because it just seemed like it had seen better days. The greens were in good shape, but quite a bit of the fairways and rough was really dried out. I was told that there's been a drought in Houston for a few months, but the course I played the next day was much greener, so that excuse didn't completely explain the conditions. Even some of the tee signs were so weathered that it made them difficult to read. Overall, it was probably worth the relatively inexpensive greens fee and the layout made me forget it's flaws.
Great, as always.
Fairways a little dry, but I guess it's understandable. Greens in fine condition.
