Bad Shape…Bunn is way better shape!
The fairways and rough were terrible. It just needs some hard work at making this a nice course. Great location and layout…just really bad shape with muddy fairways and rough that needs cut! When I was young this course was the course to play! Not anymore! Every approach is muddy with grass growing problems. It just takes hard work. The greens are unbelievably slow! We drove an hour to get there…very disappointed! Somebody needs to get the Bunn groundskeeper out there! Sad!
Not great, but fixable. .
Arrived at course and saw multiple fivesomes walking the course. They were from HS teams. When did fivesomes become the norm? It’s bad etiquette and being promoted by HS coaches.
No. 2 tee has has a big chunk of sod/dirt missing. It’s a 3-4 inch deep hole that’s been there for a few weeks…at least. Someone is going to turn an ankle. If LG staff ever moved the tee blocks, they’d notice the hole.
Must say ghe. Purse is much better than a few years ago when the fairapsay were burned out by mid-July.
Awesome Experience
Friendly staff, great rate, course was in great condition from tee to green.Fairways were plush. Greens were in great shape and ran true,no bumps other than ball marks that were not fixed.I repaired a couple every hole.Would highly recommend.(like always, keep it in the short grass)
Ok - Needs some work
The greens were aerated a couple weeks ago and are in excellent condition. They rolled true. The course has a lot of sand traps on it. The traps contained very little loose sand and were rock hard. The fairway and rough on a lot of the holes has sizable spots of crabgrass or bald spots. Sometimes you get a great lie and sometimes you’re basically in an area that needs to be marked as ground under repair. I paid $18 to play 18 holes with a cart. For that price the course was accepted, but I would not pay much more than that to play here.
Scenic Course on a Comeback
After a few years of neglect, this course has really bounced back! Greens and tee boxes are excellent and well-maintained. The sand traps have now received the attention that they needed. There are a number of challenging holes, and the many trees make hitting the fairways a necessity.
Lincoln Greens
The course has stood up well this year. Prior years found grass-less fairways.
A few rough spots but you can just take a drop if it should be ground under repair.
Overall, pretty nice and played twice in last week in under 4 hours.
Slowest Rate of Play
Slowest rate of play I’ve ever experienced in my life, took 1 hour and 40 minutes to play 3 holes before I gave up. Luckily I was able to get a rain check. Way to many large groups let off around the same time for cart path only. Poorly managed tee timing.
Poor Shape
I have played Lincoln Greens several times in the past few years. This was the poorest condition the course has ever been. All of the back nine fairways had been plugged and they all were is very poor condition. This was never mentioned before play and the charged full price green fees. Very disappointed!!!!! I appeared that they hadn't cut much grass other that the greens for several days. Just very poor conditions. At this time I would not recommend playing Lincoln Greens until the conditions improve.
Lincoln Greens - Morton Review
The city of Spfld isn't really keeping this course up to par. Although the grass is being cut...there are huge patches of crab grass even on the fairways. Many greens have issues around the fringe, with some having bare spots on the greens. Some cart paths are really nice blacktop, then some are just in terrible shape. This course really needs some tender loving care! I remember when this was the premier course in Spfld...not any more! Still...I love the layout, and the lake views. Still fun to play!
