Nothing to brag about.
Lets start by saying the improvements made are nothing special. The so called new greens are worse than the previous greens., and the club house modifications bragged about is a fresh coat of paint. Definitely not worth the $43 dollars full price, I was disappointed and I paid $19 on a hot deal. Staff allowed a 4 sum to go out in front of us with 1 set of golf clubs which caused delay, the guy at the desk had no personality, and the greens were junk. This all makes for a terrible course in my opinion. Now a few positives: the carts are very nice and the fairways were good, that is about it. Finally one of there landscapers mowed into a sand trap and was stuck on one of the holes, made the approach shot quite interesting. Probably will not return anytime soon.
Looks like becoming the best public course in the Nashville area.
Fairways great shape , new Tif-Eagle Bermuda greens rolling coming in great. Staff friendly. Great layout.
Nice new greens
New greens are great. Not sure if they didn't replace all or if they are still recovering, but some on the back 9 need some work (i.e. #16). Overall still some damage around the edges of the greens, but the greens themselves roll well.
I like the layout of this course a lot and think it's decent value for the money. Not overly challenging if you keep it straight.
Enjoyed the new greens
Really enjoyed playing on the newly installed greens. Clubhouse had been renovated and looked great. Thanks for the awesome experience.
Indian Hills Golf Course
My Father in law and I played 18 along with 2 other gentlemen that we were paired up with. The greens had just been "re-done" and some were still not quite ready to be played on but overall were in nice condition. Fairways were great. Tees were great. The only thing that detoured us from having an excellent time and great experience is that there was a 3some of seniors behind us and were on our hind end from the beginning. It put us in a bit of rush mode even though we were not slow. We were all playing well. Again, not Indian Hills fault, but it definitely had a negative mark on the day. The staff at Indian Hills is great. I will be there again soon for sure.
Great experience
The new greens are great, the fairways are kn great shape. A few wet spots , but they were not a problem. Enjoy the time
Driving in, the first impression coming up Church street is that the course doesnt care how it looks. All along Church, from the fire station to the river, you see weeds, weeds and more weeds... and trash. Its a public street but show some pride... Cut the grass, treat the right of way the same as you do the course.
Then turning in you cross over the two lakes, totally surrounded by weeds taller than the car. Cant see the water for the weeds.... Does this golf course EVER cut the weeds that clearly visible to the general public? Bet the home owners are thrilled with the way the common areas are maintained.... Total waste of good real estate.
New Greens Being Installed
All 18 are getting new greens and they are probably 6-7 weeks away from being playable. They have temp greens in the fairway, makes most of the holes 50-100 yds shorter. With over sized cups. Still a good course for everything but putting and of course any GPS yardages will be off.
Course should be closed until greens are replaced
They killed the greens and are replacing them. They were totally brown and were like putting on the street. The fact that they accepted money for people to play is a joke.
Under Construction
The greens have been killed because they are being changed over to Bermuda grass so it was like putting on a mini golf course. They will have temporary greens for a while starting next week. That part is understandable. The unexplainable part was why the fairways and roughs were so poorly maintained. There was piled grass ever where. I have never lost balls in the fairway there until yesterday. It's like they have given up for the season.
Always improving
It never ceases to amaze me how far this course has come over the years. Fairways, greens, driving range, and clubhouse have all been updated and improved every time I make the trip up there to play.
Always enjoy playing this course, because it requires you to hit a lot of different shots while still being fair and not goofy golf. Also, the staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. So no complaints here, and I'll be back out there again soon.
Greens are in rough shape
Overall, not in bad shape but the greens are all practically dead and brown.
Questions about this course
Finished playing a scramble on a Friday afternoon and came into the clubhouse to find the grill and bar area closed. Everyone that played was questioning why the bar was closed by 7 on a Friday night. Also the entire group was rushed out of the clubhouse shortly after the round because the employees were ready to go home. The final question would have to be the steps going into the clubhouse, after a clubhouse renovation they were not touched and look to be falling apart. Not sure how well this course is being run right now.
Besides this the course is in great shape.
I've played this course twice and have enjoyed it both times. I found it to be in great shape and I like the hole designs very much. Finding a few of the holes can be confusing to some but other than that I would recommend it to anyone.
Great Group
They put me with 3 The fairways & the greens were great!
Construction
Worst course I ever played! Terrible conditions. The whole course is tore up. Not worth $25 for 9 holes.
Construction
The course before the renovation, was a good course but they are trying to update and make it better so currently not a "sloppy shot" players friend,. Only the back 9 is open but it's great layout and not many players so PoP is your own discression pretty much. Once they get it all good and back to normal descent course playing ill return.
Great course to play.
Great course to play for all skill levels, and the staff is always friendly.
9 Holes Until Spring
Course is undergoing some renovations, so only 9 holes will be available at a time until springtime. Course was in decent condition for the season and we nearly had it to ourselves on a chilly day. Nice variety of holes with varying degrees of difficulty. A very playable course for a moderate beginner like myself.
