Belle Terre Country Club in La Place was carefully carved from the beautiful swamps of southeast Louisiana. The name, translated from French, means "beautiful land," a title that the terrain certainly lives up to. Pete Dye designed the golf course, utilizing the existing water features and mature trees to craft a layout that is both challenging and scenic. The back tees stretch to 6,849 yards, which will challenge the seasoned player while the forward tees make the course accessible for beginners. Water comes into play on 10 holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers. Belle Terre Country Club boasts a nice mix of holes that will test a variety of different skills, from long holes where you can grip it and rip it to short, tight holes that demand accuracy.

Used to be a great course
I have played Belle Terre numerous times and noticed little things the new owners were doing or not doing. Today was the end all. Tee boxes uncut, and so unlevel you were playing with the ball above or below your feet more than on the fairway. The sand traps have become wastelands and over run with grass. I have seen mini courses in way better shape. The owners need to sell to someone who will run this course like it was in the past. I now understand why members have left. The $75 charged is way overpriced. I paid $50 through Golf Now and it was too much. Do not play here
Course looking fairly good
Played the day after some heavy rains, cart path only. Course was much drier than expected and fairways were growing in nicely. Most greens were pretty good, a little slow but rolling true. Pace of play was great considering it was COP.

Course has always had great potential but upkeep is questionable. Many greens were below average with a few that were good., bunkers unplayable, tee boxes like concrete as you need a hammer to put your tee in the ground. They have raised the cost to play to 50.00 or more when it should be a 35.00 course max. Without a deal on golf now it would not have been worth it. A little work put in and it would be a nice course to play.

Great course poor ownership
The course has a great layout, but unfortunately the owner will mot invest in course maintenance. The course is fine during the fall, winter, and some of spring, but is unplayable during the summer. Greens are slow, sandtraps are concrete, fairways are uncut, and the rough is a jungle. They just don't have the staff to keep up and it shows.
It’s Still Worth It
If you really just consider fairways and greens
then I would say iBelle Terre was very nice. But the bunkers are really bad and it didn’t help that there was a lot of rain there couple days prior my visit. But fairways had plenty of grass and the greens, for the most part, while some did not look that great, they all rolled very consistently. I would definitely go back, but maybe try and play for the discounted rates
Overall good condition in comparison to surrounding courses. Tee boxes could use a little help but I’m not complaining
Good Shape
The course is in good shape, however, like most courses in southeast Louisiana, it is in need of some rain. I definitely would recommend this course.
