Belle Terre Country Club
About
Belle Terre Country Club in La Place was carefully carved from the beautiful swamps of southeast Louisiana. The name, translated from French, means "beautiful land," a title that the terrain certainly lives up to. Pete Dye designed the golf course, utilizing the existing water features and mature trees to craft a layout that is both challenging and scenic. The back tees stretch to 6,849 yards, which will challenge the seasoned player while the forward tees make the course accessible for beginners. Water comes into play on 10 holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers. Belle Terre Country Club boasts a nice mix of holes that will test a variety of different skills, from long holes where you can grip it and rip it to short, tight holes that demand accuracy.

The hole was damaged an inch around the entire hole. This wasn’t the worst one but just one that I took a picture of after being disgusted. Photo submitted by u000004947912 on 06/13/2021

Course has improvement projects under way
I had not played Belle Terre in 25 yrs, but we used to often play Belle Terre back in the 80s & 90s. In speaking w/head pro Greg, he says the club is gradually improving the course. I recommend placing red, white, & blue flagsticks on the greens to denote distance rather than all yellow flags. I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the course. Some easier holes. Some definitely challenging holes. I will definitely be back from Mandeville to play Belle Terre again.
Coming around
Greens are finally getting faster. This place has potential and is a good deal for the most part.
Needs rain badly
Let’s start by giving credit where due, the greens were in good condition, a little slow but rolled true. Fairways and tees need rain badly, drying out and many bare areas that are hard. I know the salt content in the water supply is too high for irrigation of the bermuda. Still had an enjoyable round. The layout is nice and once the fairways get the spring showers it should come around.
Course needs work
Greens were in good shape. Fairways and tee boxes need work. Clubhouse was basically closed except the pro shop.
Really nice course!
Belle Terre is a nice course and very budget friendly! The greens are in fantastic shape, especially for this time of year. The pro shop has plenty to choose from and the staff and club pro are very friendly! I highly recommend this course!.
Kitchen Staff
10 minute before the kitchen closed and i was turned away by staff, also no cart girl to serve food/beverage during play on the course. The course is in great shape and the layout is pretty challenging well worth the price.
Great course
Had a great time. Greens were excellent condition.
Greens were great!
Course was in great shape for this time of year. Greens were very nice and the pace of play was great!
Not Told About Course Closure
I booked my tee time on Wednesday for 10:24 Saturday morning. I drove all the way to the course, which is 40 minutes from where I live, to find it CLOSED and no one around. I was not made aware that my tee time had been cancelled and wasted $11 on my GolfNow booking. I had played the course in the past and enjoyed it, but was extremely disappointed in the lack of communication. I will be back to play the course again, and do recommend it. However, this was a very disappointing experience.
