About
Belle Terre Country Club in La Place was carefully carved from the beautiful swamps of southeast Louisiana. The name, translated from French, means "beautiful land," a title that the terrain certainly lives up to. Pete Dye designed the golf course, utilizing the existing water features and mature trees to craft a layout that is both challenging and scenic. The back tees stretch to 6,849 yards, which will challenge the seasoned player while the forward tees make the course accessible for beginners. Water comes into play on 10 holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers. Belle Terre Country Club boasts a nice mix of holes that will test a variety of different skills, from long holes where you can grip it and rip it to short, tight holes that demand accuracy.

Greens were great!
Course was in great shape for this time of year. Greens were very nice and the pace of play was great!
Not Told About Course Closure
I booked my tee time on Wednesday for 10:24 Saturday morning. I drove all the way to the course, which is 40 minutes from where I live, to find it CLOSED and no one around. I was not made aware that my tee time had been cancelled and wasted $11 on my GolfNow booking. I had played the course in the past and enjoyed it, but was extremely disappointed in the lack of communication. I will be back to play the course again, and do recommend it. However, this was a very disappointing experience.
Getting better
Best I have seen it in years. Little more green speed and some bunker work and it would be a solid 4 star.
Good course for the money
Belle Terre is a good course for the money - well taken care of, although the greens were a bit shaggy and slow. However, well above average green quality compared to most of New Orleans area courses. Some slow play on the front 9, but when opened up (which is most of the time), it is really well paced. Going back this weekend.

Course was in good shape. Fairways trimmed and greens is good shape.. it's a fairly challenging layout with lots if water, but fun.
