Golfer Reviews
New management took off twilight hour
You can play way better courses for way less. Overpriced
Challenging but Fun
Challenging course with plenty of holes to play driver on. Course maintenance was decent, but bunkers were poorly maintained across the board. Pace of play was very slow, but that’s not because of the course itself. Will play again.
Fair at best
Even with a hot deal and an additional 10 bucks off, this course was a disappointment and really not worth the money.. the layout was fair, the pace was slow and we ended up skipping the last 3 holes because it would have taken 1.5 hours. There is no ranger on the course. Course reminds me of Haines point or Langston. In DC. Swampy and poorly maintained. There are plenty of other more picturesque courses near by for a fraction of the price. One and done.
Inconsistent pace of play
We were behind a foursome that was playing for two back then their ability. When we summoned arranger, he did appear, but it did not change the pace of play.
Perfect Day
Too Slow !
2 beers and 2 hot dogs for $30 !
and now no 9 hole play at all anytime !
Moving on ...
R National pace
Always great to play Reston National. Greens are coming back strong and other than the bunkers needing some maintenance and new sand the course was in good shape. Slow pace today with mainly 1 group holding up play. Noticed 2+ holes open when we crossed the street at 13 and no range was out to give some general pokes before it was to late and we waited a fair amount of time on each shot. Difficult to maintain a rhythm but it was a fun day on the course. Range still irons only due to the net damage from the last storm. Course pricing everywhere should have a direct tie to the green condition, they are coming back at reston but a lot of length variations.
Just ok
Over priced. No sand in bunkers, putting green was iffy and full group of lesson people monopolizing the green. Greens we're just ok, bumpy and slow. More a $60 course.
Reston National
Some good features on all 18 holes. A good challenge for a 6 handicapper off the black tees but a fair course and always in with a chance of making par. Bunkers were the only disappointment as they were in need of repair after a rainy spell. Clubhouse undergoing refurbishment so only snacks available from the pro shop. Call Uber eats to deliver there after 9 holes.
disappointed
I haven't played Reston in couple of years. I like the layout. The bunkers had little sand. The greens were slow and bumpy.
And you should be able to find your ball easily when it's just off the fairway. However, I recognize that recent rain may have interfered with mowing schedule.
Overpriced
Two stars because I like the layout of the course and staff and management were friendly. However, they're taking advantage of covid and charging a ridiculous price for this course. The conditions are poor: greens are slow and bumpy (two types of grass), tee boxes are a mess, traps are more dirt than sand. Club house is closed for remodeling which I don't ding them for as it will be a nice addition. However, for a similar price you can go 5-10 miles west and play nicer courses.
