Reston National Golf Course

Used to be my favorite course to play. Place has fallen far. Would much rather drive an extra 20 minutes to Bull Run, Raspberry for a similar price.

Played here several times, today it was a bit slower than usual, but the nice weather was great. We walked the 18 holes, due to the slow play some seating occasions would have been very welcome.

The course is very well worn, tee boxes run down, cart paths very bumpy, lots of places where there have been washouts beside the cart paths. Worst feature was the greens. Looks like they lost them to some sort of weed that makes the surface very irregular and impossible to get a straight putt. Clubhouse was under full renovation too, but that probably does not matter as it would have ben closed du to COVID anyways. I was disappointed from the time I drove into the parking lot until I drove out. Can't imagine that I will be back.

Greens were in awful shape. Not worth the money. Much better-cared for public courses around NOVA.

Greens seem to have two types of grass growing on them, or one is diseased maybe? Either way they were slow, ball bounced a lot, and the levels of the two colors of grasses were uneven. Rest of the course was in pretty good shape, but fun was taken out of it when putting was miserable.

Greens have two types of grass on them. If you can hit a straight putt without it bumping all over it's an anomaly. If the bunker had sand it was okay. Most of them have construction dirt with rocks in them so be careful of making contact with your club.

I'm not sure what more score was because of the greens and the bunkers. Course should be in much better condition for what their weekend rates are. Either warn the golfer ahead of or while booking the tee time, or discount it. By the way I am there to play golf not stand in the club house. Why is your money going into the club house and not the course?

was terrible. The rest of the course was in good condition.

Getting on the first tee was chaos. Starters had no idea what was going on or who was supposed to be going. Held up everyone because one group was 10 min late. Expect much better for that price. Course was decent. Tees were hacked apart.

Played Reston national this afternoon. 79 bucks a round. I enjoyed the course. Really pretty and layout is challenging but forgiving. However, the greens were in pretty bad shape. Seemed like there is a fungus decease or something going on. Bumpy and not very maintained. Other wise had a good time.

Greens had been aerated and top dressed with sand, so very choppy and slow. Tee boxes were not in good shape, rest of course was.
