Needs work

The clubhouse was closed for renovations. That was not a big deal. There was a junior clinic going on that occupied the entire practice putting green. How about a little sharing. The fairways were in decent shape. However, the greens were not. The greens had been aerated not long ago. There were still lots of holes. Putting required a bit of luck with putts hoping off line and killing the speed. If the greens are going to be so bad then the rate you pay should be reduced. Or at least post a warning. I would not play there again for full price until the greens are back in shape.

Poor conditions

Conditions were very poor. Greens are not playable. The grass is patchy at best, and bumpy throughout. Its hard to believe that this course charges what it does considering the quality of the putting surfaces. Also, the bunkers look like the sand needed to be replaced five years ago. They are hard pack dirt and full of rocks. This course has potential. I like the layout. It's long. It's challenging. Conditions are bad.

Not Worth 91 dollar Price

The course is in awful shape. The greens are terrible and there is more sand than grass in the tee boxes. I didn't expect a course in April to be so bad.

Not Worth The Price!!!!!

This is a $35-40 course at best. The tee boxes have more sand than grass. The greens are all aerated and are in awful shape. Every time a shot landed on the green a puff of sand would pop up. This used to be a good course but it's garbage right now

What am I getting for $85?

I've played Reston National before and enjoyed it. This was before, however, when the green fees were closer to 65-70. I'm not sure if it's under new management but for a whopping $85 for the round I was deeply disappointed. The tee boxes were a mess and looked like they were in September condition, not April. There were bare spots everywhere and it was hard to believe how beat up they were. In addition, the greens had just been aerated probably 1-2 weeks before, which is fine, except no where on the website does it mention anything about this. Some courses offer a discount for aerated greens but for $85? You've got to be kidding me. Also not listed on the website is the fact that the clubhouse is under construction! So the only food and drink offered was with the beverage cart - WHO ONLY TAKES CASH! Is this 1984 or 2021? Not to mention when I asked the pro shop about getting beers there he said "oh the beverage cart is out there and can take care of you". Ok fine. But there was no mention of the fact that she only accepts cash and I later learned that they don't have an ATM at the clubhouse! When I asked the teenager working at the clubhouse during the turn if they had an ATM she told me I could go to the sunoco across the street! DURING THE TURN! I felt like i was getting taken for a ride, as did my playing partner. If I'm spending $85 for a round I would gladly rather go to Whiskey Creek and or Blue Mash which are gorgeous golf courses. Reston National is fine but for $85 give me a break. I was really dissapointed with my outing here and probably won't go back again anytime soon. Total Ripoff.

Interesting changes afoot

I've seen a lot of criticism on this site, but I'm interested to watch how the new management group continues to improve this course. The fairways on the back 9 look as good as I've seen them in years and the greens are finally mostly healed from their aeration. There is a clubhouse renovation under way as well.

I like the discount for walking and the pace of play was good on a weekend.

The course it was not I. Good condition the greens horrible ... the price I paid that it was 90 dollars it wasn’t worth it... when the conditions of the course are like this the price needs to drop at least 50 %. Of..

Course layout and setting is very nice. However, the greens which were recently aerated were still in rather poor condition.
