Dog track
For $100 not worth it at all. Poor poor conditions
Nice course in Northern Virginia
Have not played here since the start of COVID ( summer of 2020). My group played from the senior tees due to a few other players below average skill-sets. My first time from these tees though I am age eligible. All parts of the course are in great shape except maybe 4 or 5 holes that apprear to have not changed their locations. It was very obvious and noticeable with the excessive foot traffic and damage around the hole. ( Maybe a one-time oversite or a lazy crew member)
Staff is friendly and accommodating. Glad to have come back to play with friends before a show at Wolf Trap Pavilion.
Course is good looking. Nice layout
Rough was extremely long. Had not been cut. 4-6 inches. Only saw one mower all day? Greens average. They could have added one more tee box between black and silver as silver was just few yards shorter than the red tees. Other than long grass well kept.
OK in a crunch.
This was a slow round, and the second cut rough around the greens was in bad shape; lots of broken ground leaving the ball in almost unplayable positions. Would be much improved with some agrimony.
Tees boxes similarly below standard with more than one having so many unrepaired areas that was forced to tee up outside of the pegs.
Short course so able to shoot low. Greens were a good pace. Sand was reasonably well maintained. Expect a slow round though. Better courses locally for similar green fee rates imho.
Great place!
Beautiful course nested in the middle of Virginia forest. Saw deers, foxes and many others animals . Very friendly staff. Very well maintained. Reasonably priced. Plenty of driving range space. Will definitely play here next time we are in DC
Maintenance
Tee boxes not level, not cut low enough
Traps not machine groomed
Rough, uneven long grass, not cut recently
Greens not rolled and VERY slow
Gas cart engine cut off every minute or so
Fantastic course
The course is in great shape. The greens are large and have many undulations. The rough is penalizing. It is super thick requiring one to gouge the ball back onto the fairway.
Nice course good pace of play
While the fairways and greens were in good condition. The rough was very thick making it dificult to find a ball that was just a foot off the fairway.. the green fee approached $100.00 which i thought was high for Mid week afternoon for this tyoe of course. All in all we had fun and played an enjoyable round of golf
Not worth the cost
Several issues:
- it played in 4:40. Dreadfully slow and ALWAYS has been
- unreasonable at that cost not to include a small bucket to hit
- rough was unhittable due to improper mowing not for difficulty
- sand traps not maintained
- no ball washers at any holes
-no where to put your bag ANYWAY near clubhouse
-the balls you do pay to hit are broken worn and ruined
Regardless of the management, this course never improves and is a $50 course at best
- $15 PER person’s ridiculous for the cart. One person in a cart is $15. That makes no sense.
Sorry Reston you lost me
Not worth the money; not very walkable
This course has a decent layout, the greens and fairways were in mostly good shape, and the carts had gps in them, but those are things you can find at a well trafficked public course for $50 per round. What I expect for $100 ($80 per round and $20 for a cart) is a well taken care of course from tee to green with hardly any rough areas plus all the amenities; that is not what you can expect at Reston National.
The bunkers were almost unplayable (looked like some haven’t been raked in weeks), the tee boxes are tiny (maybe 100 square feet on average), and the course has horrible drainage issues: part of why the bunkers are unplayable. This is what I would expect at a typical public course for $45 per round and would not mind paying that much for it, but $100 is ridiculous.
I do not recommend this course at all but I had a great time with the two guys I was paired up with.
