The Boulders South Course delivers a visually stunning, championship-caliber layout that consistently earns praise as one of Arizona's best. Attentive staff and smooth pace of play round out an elevated golf experience worth adding to any bucket list.

About

Holes 18
Type Resort/Public
Style Desert
Par 71
Length 6917 yards
Slope 142
Rating 72.9

The Boulders Golf Club & Resort complex features two outstanding 18-hole courses. Both courses are very well maintained, and the scenery is incredible. Boulder's South Course is exactly the type of desert course people come to the Phoenix-Scottsdale resort corridor to play. A round of golf on the South kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 421 yards from the blue tees, which is quickly followed by a short par 3, measuring 150 yards from the blue tees. Things get long on the fifth hole, a 545-yard par 5, which is just a warm-up for the 11th hole, a par 5 that measures 601 yards from the blue tees. It doesn't get much easier to finish: The 18th is a par 5 that measures 513 yards from the blue tees.

$14 beers!!!

The course was great… but $14 for a Coors light is absolutely ridiculous!!! When we said something to the pro shop about the ridiculous price gauging, the guy said “you don’t have to buy beers if you don’t like the price”. Really dude?? He was being a complete jerk. No where in this world has anyone charged $14 for a 16 oz Coors light.

Never golfing here again… or if I do, I’m loading my bag with my own beers and they can deal with it!

A Must Play!

I play two rounds a week at various courses around the valley. The Boulders is at the top of my list. This is how golf should be. I definitely will be playing again soon. Great layout and conditions. A++

Fortunate Round

I always consider myself lucky when I get to play this course. Not with my game but with the amazingly friendly and thoughtful staff plus the conditions and weather.

Pace was awesome until the last three holes when I was stuck by an incredibly slow group. But, such is life.

Great course and I’m hopeful to play again in the near future.

Great Layout

Really like The Boulders. Course is in good shape. Greens smooth and fairly quick. Tees and fairways in good shape. Layout is fun. One of my favorite Phoenix courses.

The layout is great, but the condition of the course was terrible, the greens, the fairways, crabgrass all around the greens, overall the course was in very rough condition. Your greenskeepers are not doing a very good job.

Great Course with some issues

As the other reviews state, two of the holes on the North course are under repair however we were encouraged/allowed to play a few more holes after finishing our round. We started in the mid morning and it was HOT so we thought pace of play would be fast. It was almost a five-hour round. We called the club house twice and a ranger came out once, but this did not seem to speed things up. This is not an easy course however I am a high handicapper and still enjoyed myself (your welcome homeowners for the yard balls). The view on the tee box on hole 10 almost made me go home and was shocked I got it through the narrow window!! Other than the pace of play, I loved the course and can't wait to play when fully repaired. Really want to play the South course when open as I was told that is the scenic one.

Not in the Best Playing Conditions

Scheduled to play the North Course (as the South Course is closed for the summer), we learned that Hole 1 was closed due to bunker work, and we would start on the Back 9, only to play 17 holes. The range surface was a little sparse; tee boxes were good; fairways, in many places, were wet (greatly reducing roll); greens were quite slow but ran true; many sand traps were wet (complicating shots). Course was empty (at 11:30), given the 111* heat. A good value still.

Thank you for taking the time to give your feedback. You said it best its 111 degrees out. Course is wet in some places so it doesn't burn up. We are happy to say that we are getting new greens on the South course and should be available to play towards the end of October. The North Course is 17 holes due to a bunker renovation. Glad you enjoy the round. See you again soon
