Nestled at the base of the Superstition Mountains, Mountainbrook Golf Club offers a player-friendly course with beautiful views of mountains and desert hills. Given its location, the golf course is mostly flat, making it a nice walk. The layout combines that of a desert course and a mountain course for an interesting variety of holes and challenges. The fairways are relatively wide and some are lined with trees and the fairly large greens are sloped and fast. Sand bunkers are situated throughout the course and two lakes create water hazards that come into play on the back nine. Mountainbrook Golf Club's signature hole is the par-5 16th, which has a dogleg left fairway and a green that is well guarded by bunkers and mounding.

It is what it is

This course was under construction and we had a 5 min wait on the 1st 12 tee boxes. They started 20 min behind and the traps were either filled with so much sand your ball sank or virtually none at all. You could land the green from a 75 ft apex and bounce off the greens. We have played here 8 times and each time it gets a little worse for whatever reason.

Without a cart-girl to provide hydration, don't get caught without plenty to drink. As for my round of golf, the pace of play equaled the limited golfers on the course that morning. The greens were said to be a week out from aerating but actually were very satisfying. Overall, the round went well, the traps were a bit wet but workable. the course is in good shape and for a casual golfer, perfect for my skills.

Second time playing this great course in the last 2 months after hearing about it from a native Arizonian earlier this year. . Course not affiliated with Golfnow, this is a 'hidden' gem! Great layout and friendly fairways, amazing views on many holes as the course is tucked-in close to the mountainside.

Great off course amenities including a good bar and well stocked pro shop. Cart attrendsnt was friendly and available with ice cold beverages! Add this course to your must-play course list,, you won't be disappointed.

Fun Course

Lots of length and a unique layout to test your skills with a beautiful backdrop of the superstitions.

Pace of play is supposed to be four hours but just know that all carts are required to be back by 7pm.

So if you sign up at 4, you don’t have until sunset, you have 3 hours.

Back nine are extremely fun.

Good pace

Busy but great pace. Downside is lots of holes overlap and can be dangerous with others playing off your fairway or hitting towards your tee box missing their green. Course was in OK shape for the upswing in higher temps. Saw beverage cart 1 time in 18 holes. It'd be nice to see a net put up along the driving range to prevent getting hit by range balls while in your own fairway on multiple holes. Would play again but during the week.
