Ranch at Tonto Verde Golf Club
About
The Ranch course at Tonto Verde Golf Club is the newer one, this golf course designed exclusively by Gary Panks, who laid it out over 6,988 yards, upon which it has played host to several golf events at the professional and amateur level since it opened in 2002.
The Ranch golf course at the Tonto Verde Golf Club serves power golfers due to the distance, though it will certainly test those who golf a good short, thanks to big greens that are bunkered well and slope, too.
The Tonto Verde Golf Club offers stay-and-play packages for those who don't want to lodge themselves too far from the Peaks and Rancho golf courses. Pets are generally welcome, and the minimum stay is only three nights.

Great summer conditions
Except for a mower width around each green, the course was green and in great shape. Green were faster than they looked. Some of the bunkers needed more sand though.
Immaculate
We played the Ranch course, conditions are ideal t-box to green. Immaculate!
Great course
Great course. Glad to play here in spite of 112 degree heat. Had the course virtually to ourselves. Challenging but very fair. Fantastic mountain views.
tonto verde golf course needs customer service training refresher
Tonto Verde, nothing positive to say about this facility. I was turned away at the pro shop for improper attire. I was wearing Under armor golf clothing purchased at a local golf store. The staff reply was collered shirts only. I was then told I could purchase a shirt in their pro shop. I sure was not going to wear one of their shirts for any reason. I would think that in the present state that golf finds itself in, they might realize that is very short sighted to be discouraging play. For the record the offending shirt was a mock frequently seen by tour proffessionals on tv.

Great course to play. This course is very playable for any golfer. (Ranch)
Semi-Private, not very welcoming
I got the feeling from the moment I checked and that GolfNow guests were not particularly welcome. When the staff confirmed that I had paid online, hot deal, things got a little cold.
The highlight of the staff experience would be the starter, Fred. He was very nice and treated both me and my son, nine years old, with respect.
The round lasted almost 5 hours due to very slow play by the groups in front of us. Not sure why they would allow a fivesome to go off on a busy Saturday morning, but it did not set up a good pace of play. Hard to get a rhythm.
In the end, this was a nice facility, but I do not think I will be making the drive out there again anytime soon.
One of the best in all of Phoenix
The course was in exceptional condition for late May. The fairways were lush and the greens were smooth and in outstanding condition. This is a must play for those who want a challenging experience or just want to play a pristine course. The only negative is the windy conditions that seem to be a constant in the early afternoon.
Excellent golf course
Course was in very good condition. The was fast. I will return.
Great Course.
Narrow fairways and hard to read greens make it quite challenging. Course in tip top shape, greens super consistant hole to hole. The Greenskeeper is a stud.
Excellent Course
The course was in great condition, greens were fast and true, bunkers good, fairways excellent.
First time playing the course and was very happy, well worth the 40 minute drive from Scottsdale.
Great mountain views
Very user friendly. Nice layout , no blind shots or tricked up holes. Bunkers were a little sparse of sand. Greens in nice shape. Overall nice experience.
Good course
Course was in very good condition. Greens were perfect. Course was busy . Only complains we're no canteen or restraint open and no beverage cart on the course. As a first time player the we're no hole description.
Best Ever Played!
My son and I have been playing for 20+ years. I am an 18 handicap, while my son is a 0 handicap. We live in Orlando, FL which is by many considered a golf mecca. I'm here to tell you that there is no course in Orlando that measures up to the pristine quality of Tonto Verde Golf Club. Not Bay Hill, not Disney, none hold a candle to this heaven on earth. Every where you look it is a postcard. You have to see it to believe! If you love golf are are in the Phoenix area, do not hesitate. This is truly the absolute BEST GOLF COURSE I HAVE PLAYED IN OVER 20 YEARS.
Good Golfcourse
Enjoyed the Course. It was in good shape but when you play the Ranch course you need to get your drinks and sandwich first as you don't go back to the clubhouse.
The greens were absolutely beautiful!
Excellent and fun. I could've played 36 holes. It was long but the layout kept it challenging to point of wanting to conquer the next hole.
Nice Course
Very nice course, excellent practice facilities. Played in a twosome but a good pace.
Good course
Course is in perfect shape. Fairways give lots of roll. Greens receptive and true. Course tends to get a bit worn out later in the season (heat). Secenery is spectacular
Peaks Course at Tonto Verde
Followed a great deal on GolfNow beyond renowned Grayhawk and Troon North, to the north eastern edge of Scottsdale to find Tonto Verde. 36 holes in a private club setting with spectacular views of the mountains of the nearby Tonto National Forest. The long drive is worth it, as what waits is a relaxed and fun round on an incredibly well-conditioned, sporty golf course with plenty of challenge.
Tee times are not regularly available at this private facility, so take advantage of when they become available. I know I will.
